The way i see it, hes going to go to who ever pays him the most and gives him the term he wants. If that be Van or Edm then so be it. He's not going to win anything there. I say we use those resources to try and replenish our D. If we could pick up a UFA to aid us in our bottom 6 then its all good. Thats what Deeno should be trying to do. |

"minor punches to the gut".. right? Although this was a bit more than minor.. in the long run this was a good move. Last thing we need on this team is another horrible contract. I really liked Looch as a King, and what he brought to the table. But like you said, if somehow this helps us fix our defense I'm all for it. Maybe this team needs to go back to 2-1 hockey. Great goalie, great defense, poopty offense. It doesn't make for super exciting hockey, but thats what worked for us in the past.

While I also wouldn't want him for the dollars he wants. Its more painful to again lose a player you pay so much for. I hated the Sekera trade. But hated he was lost for nothing. I want Looch in LA. At a better dollar. But rather pay him to much than lose him for nothing. Our pipeline and draft picks are just sailing away while we aren't getting better.
The bottom six better step up big time. If not Dean needs to clean house. Our bottom six is garbage. King and Pearson need to be alot better. |

Yeah it sucks. But can you imagine if the team had ANOTHER dustin brown like contract weighing it down? Bye bye Tanner Pearson? No thank you.
Let's fix the defense. This team was built from the net out, and has always put a huge emphasis on defense first. If we can rebuild that I think we can win again. |

I get that. But the bigger issue is paying such a high price to rentals at this point. |

Thank FREAKING GOD, I am sick of Kings signing bad contracts.
Hopefully Vegas will take Gabby next year.

Sorry, low blow.
but yah, Lombardi's comments earlier on Dustin regaining his form are out to lunch. Lucic is an effective player, and he does his job well. I'm sure you guys will miss him in the top 6.
And, what the hell happened to Gaborik last year, he disappeared. - moondawg
the whole (frank)in team disappeared, something I think will become more common in the future

So the Kings have lost Mckeown, Miller, jones, Zykov, 2 1sts for a half year of Sekera, half year of versteeg and Lucic for one year. What a waste of talent
I'm probably missing a few pieces too
Edit: I really hate that Miller was in the deal for lucic. Didn't like it when it was first announced and I'm really hating it now. Not to mention BOS went and flipped Jones to SJ which is the real killer |

DL seemed to touch gold all of his earlier trades, but there has been much mud recently and the result is one playoff win in two years. GMs are fairly judged by what they have done lately, and not much good has happened of late. If none of the trades the past two years had been made, I doubt the result on the ice would have been the same but we would have lots of picks. As good as Quick is, losing Jones cost us a lot of money and going forward I am not sure Quick over Jones makes any real difference. It was fun while it lasted but unless a Malkin or Stamkos appears out of nowhere I am not particularly optimistic for next year or even thereafter unless Brown is picked up in expanstion. |

I'm giving him and DS one more year. With everything that they have done for this team, its the least I can do from a fan's point of view. If the Kings aren't playing in the WCF next year at the very least, then I can see the team going in a new direction. Rebuild time! it was fun while it lasted. and hey, we got two cups so it can't be looked at as a complete failure

Say Brown pots 60 pts this yr. Still leave him unprotected?
Unless he is healthy scratched a bunch, I do think LV does you a favor, at least to hit the floor. |

I think that is a pipe dream in Brown's case and I don't think LV will have any trouble hitting the floor. |

Meh, I think Kopi was a pretty obvious choice, just between him and Bergeron I imagine. Definitely thought Karlsson would get the Norris but I'm okay with seeing them go in another direction this time around. Drew is deserving imo. |

I may not agree with the result, but Drew Doughty should be very proud if winning the Norris Trophy. He is a damned fine Dman. I hope he justifies the result further by helping Canada win at the Worlds
I hope the same debate rages on next year.
Kopitar snubbing the awards....can't say I blame him. |

Tanner is a joke. And while Karlsson is damn good. Its been a couple years since a Norris goes to a Dman who bring it all. Its not about putting up 70+ points. Just glad that both Doughty and Kopi both win an award people keep saying they should win. Both young enough to compete with the rest of the challengers. |
