Bob mackenize said he thinks Lucic will end up in Edm.

That would be great on so many levels. Their d and goaltending is a tire fire and they want to go sign another top 6 forward. I guess they were pissed they didn't win the lottery this year

- fiveandagame

Signing a top 6 forward could help the loss of another top 6 forward through trade for a D

That would mean Edmonton actually having the sack to trade one of their precious lottery picks. I'll believe it when I see it.

I think he'd be a good fit with Edmonton. Protect Conner from jv!

According to the rules, the leafs need to protect Nathan Horton
- Bieksa#3

You wish

* Players with potential career-ending injuries who have missed more than the previous 60 consecutive games (or who otherwise have been confirmed to have a career-threatening injury) may not be used to satisfy a club’s player exposure requirements, unless approval is received from the NHL. Such players also may be deemed exempt from selection by the League.

Horton has a degenerative back injury and hasn't played since the 2013-2014 season.

He's exempt.

Oooooooh so aquiring him was more like a cap circumvention move? Which should technically result in the forfeiture of this years first Rd pick

You might want to check with Beatle John for an official ruling but no there wasn't any cap circumvention.

I think they will ...I think the pressure to win the trade or hit a homerun is long gone ...now it's just make a trade for a D even if it's not an immediate win

I worked on my boat for nine frickin hours today .... On the plus side it's now in better shape than all the Candian teams combined, well except maybe the Flames with Monahan, Gaudreau, Bennett, Brodie, Hamilton, Backlund, Colbourne, Ferland, 6th overall pick, (frank)

Yup, when the nhl was handing out immunity necklaces he was given a few. Boston was given one with the Marc Savard situation. Arizona and Florida got a few as well so that they could trade up to the cap floor

Lou's a dinasour, the NHL passed him by years ago, just a figurehead really. I'd put money on the Leafs not making the playoffs in the next five years if they don't sign Stamkos.

All those players and where did they finish compared to Van? They get 6th, Van's got 5th. Not worried about Calgary.

I guess you'd know about dinosaurs, eh old man?

Lou was brought in to mentor, for his connections and respect around the league. Brilliant move.

well I firmly believe if Lou was running the show by himself, you'd be in big trouble, thankfully, for the fans, there's people smarter than him making team decisions.

It's about the big picture, not right now, they're in a very good place moving forward.
