Macdonald had a rather disappointing year including a very lacklustre performance at the world juniors. They still have a chance, but there is a reason why Gillies is so highly thought of, he has dominated at every level and who knows he could have found his way on to the Flames last year were it not for his injury.

It's pretty much impossible to prove a conversation with a scout and, surprisingly, there's very little on the internet ranking team's prospects after they've been drafted.

I don't think hockeysfutures is always that reliable, but they're one of the only places that does rankings and they have all three goalies ranked pretty much the same.
