Really happy about this trade, we've known this was coming after Gibson was extended at the beginning of the year. FA will make a great starter for a rebuilding team in TOR.
FA definitely could carry this team through the regular season, but I started to doubt his ability to help the team close games like in 14-15 against Chicago (for the reasons stated above) and this season. Anaheim didn't lose the series to Nashville because of FA, but I wondered if fate would have been different if BB went back to Gibson for game 7.
Great return for the Ducks, deepen that prospect pool.
Now lets resign 47 and 67, and move out 4 for a nice return to make way for Shea Theodore. - getzlaugh
I like your plan, but I think Fowler gets dealt before the RFAs sign. |

Possibly but I think Anaheim could greatly benefit from moving Bieksa (salary retained) for whatever you can get. If you can dump that NMC even at half retained then you can protect Fowler, Vatanen, & Lindholm while still having Theodore exempt. If you can find a team that doesn't mind protecting Bieksa Anaheim will be infinitely better off. |

Fowler can get the LW Anaheim greatly needs as a return in a trade. |

As I said, today's goalies...
Not guys like Lundqvist, Price, Rinne etc...
Martin Jones makes $3m. Andersen makes $5m.
Get my drift Palio? - Scooby_Doo
Not really though....
Jones played a grand total of 34 games when he got that contract. with a spct of .918.
Anderson has played 125 going 77-26-12 with a spct of .918 |

Are you sure about that? I don't imagine teams are offering a top line LW for Fowler. It seems almost limited to Drouin in that regard. Seems better to trade Despres for less and work something else out on a LW. |

In your dreams. I would make that trade in a heartbeat. With the success he had in the playoffs, Stamkos still not signed, and Drouin withdrawing his trade request, I'm afraid that ship has sailed. Drouin would have been the perfect add to this team. |

I'm seeing a few things on twitter that is saying Fowler for Ennis plus picks. Not sure why Ducks would add more salary (unless they are including the 8th overall). |

I know fans on here are going to gladly say yes to this deal... But there's rumors floating around from journalists who think the 8th overall pick will be involved for Fowler. Folks in Buffalo are freaking out because we don't think he's worth the 8th overall pick... In your minds is he? Or would we be over paying? |
