Never really thought of Crawford as a game changing goalie. He's played on great teams but is just a good goalie. in my opinion. Much like Luongo on team Canada, was he really that good to win the gold?

The Leafs just gave up a 1st and 2nd for a guy that shared the load mostly.

Why? I would say that's pretty fair value all things being considered.

Actually, with Bishop at 5.95 mill & needing to be resigned to probably 7.0 mill next year, where does that leave Gilles? How about Hickey, #35 & #54 & Gilles for Bishop?
Yzerman loves having those high end seeds cultivating & Bishop replaces that potential in net.

Well, that's the thing, you don't do it for just 1 year, you go into the deal prepared to extend him on a 5 year 35 mill deal as early as July 2nd.

I agree. CGY has a lot of leverage here. These offers are basically destroying the depth we've built up. For reasons I said in my last post 2 seconds and a mid prospect at most. U can't offer 2 high picks and 2 of our top 4-5 prospects for a G on a 1 yr term with large cap on team with major $ issues.
