I really wouldn't be surprised at all if both Fleury and Murray are on the Pens opening night roster. I wouldnt have much of a problem with that either. |

Hard pass. Nothing of value there. You forget the Flames need Fleury as much as we need to trade him. And we have zero pressure to move him right now. We can move him to Ottawa or Dallas right before the draft for basically the same thing you are offering (Very little) - sditulli
what the Flames need is a good tender if they have designs on winning a cup. I think that rules out MAF. There's a need for Pit to move MAF before expansion. Sorry but there's not much of a market for him |

Personally, I don't think you can win a cup anymore with MAF in net. You can have your pick of all sorts of tenders that won't help you win a cup.
I am not fond of any sort of quality assets being moved for MAF. - ConnorMcDaigle
Fleury has lead his team to 2 cup finals and won one so............... |

"Waiting to make a goalie trade is not the prudent move for Pittsburgh. There is no reason to create extra risk in this situation by letting it play out. "
I'm pretty sure it might be the prudent move to wait...I'm certain there will be at least one team that at some point next season will be looking for a veteran starter...who knows, it might be the Penguins. Getting caught up in the 'we have to trade MAF now" mentality is a mistake.
We just won the cup and have essentially the same team back for the start of next year...we don't really need to do anything yet. |

Why are you saying fleury isn't a good goalie? He's terrific and was very good the 2 previous post seasons and has already won a cup. You put the pieces around him and he could win a cup |

That's the type of trade we do if Murray's about to be exposed. Complete desperation move - Victoro311
Fact we can always put a deal together like that though gives us the leverage we need to get reasonable value. We don't need to dump fleury for nothing. |

I would rather trade Kylington than Hickey....I think Hickey might be our best D prospect! - The-O-G
And I would rather get Juluis Honka from Dallas in a trade for MAF but🎼🎧 "you can't always get what you wa-ant, but if you try sometimes, you find, you get what you need🎧." |

Time clearly is not on our side. The sooner it is over, the better. Every month that ticks off the calendar lessens what little leverage we have. |

How has this become one of our more stressing offseasons... when we have BARELY any moves to make, if even? |

Because of the expansion draft, and the idea of losing a fan favorite guy. |

Nah... I'd say a healthy Flower could have won us this Cup as well in all honesty. The team was that strong around the goalies. |

It's not worth taking the chance that some team might need him later in he season. Who was the last goalie traded during the season? I can't think of the last one and the closer we get to the expansion draft the more likely we will get stuck with a terrible deal or worse we would have to trade Murray. And it will too much of a distraction for the team to have every interview being about trade speculation. It's better to just get it over with. Look at the nightmare Tampa went through this year with Stamkos. I don't want any of that hanging over a team trying to repeat that has its entire roster back in order to do so. |

Yep. If Calgary wants Fleury, they need to make it happen. There's far worse things than going into the season next year with exceptional goalie depth. |

Really, how so?
There are no teams playing hockey right now.
How many goalies get hurt during a season? How many falter?
There will be trading partners later that are not trading partners now. |

Might grab a cheap depth player for around 1 mil.
Or if Malkin is going to be out near half the season, we could grab a ~3mil player... his LTIR for 1/3-1/2 the season is a nice chunk of money to play with. |

Or increases it. Like delta decay on an options contract. some times you catch a big move. Sometimes your position slowly loses value. Maybe a month into the season a team has a season ending injury to their #1. What if Holtby tears his acl? Or crawford. Or someone elses goalie just plain sucks next year. |

Why? Time means nothing here. In fact, time passing can do nothing but open up the market for goalies. About the worst thing they can do is make a trade out of desperation.
I bet the Lightning are pretty happy they didn't listen to those who said that they had to trade Drouin right away or they were losing all their fictional leverage.

What is his current level of play? Cause we can see it was very good this year... And the stats show he was a top goalie in the league. |

Nightmare in Tampa? They made it to the Conference Finals. Who knows...if Stamkos was healthy for the whole series they may have beaten the Pens.
