I kind of agree. It isn't this situation in a vacuum. It is also losing out on Babcock. I think there is a fine line between being a destination vs. a bride's maid.

But the Rangers are best at drafting outside the 1st round anyway.

At least for me that means even less. Maybe the hockey world will think it does but just because he doesn't want to play with his friend is an indication of nothing. If he wants to go where he thinks he'll have the best chance for success and doesn't think that's Buffalo then he won't come here no matter how many buddies he has here.

It's basically me in high school deciding if I wanted to play house with my friends or play travel where we'd be better. I should have chose travel.

Vesey will NOT sign in Buffalo. He's already stated his intentions to enter free agency. Literally. He will go to Boston or Toronto. He grew up in Boston and his dad works for the Leafs. This is Babcock 2.0. You guys DON'T have him. Waste of a third round pick. Buffalo is an awful city compared to Toronto. We're not even sure if he can surpass Brown and Kapanen.
