It could be but I haven't heard, I did hear a little while ago today that the Vesey trade was being talked about but Murray didn't want to wait and it happened real quick.

I thought it was just 10-11 a year they were ready to give him, that's what I was told. But now are ready to go all in.

Just a guess but Im thinking with Yandle perhaps being out of the picture now they may be prepared to go bigger for stamkos. Also makes me think the d-man they plan on bringing in has a good cap hit OR will see a decent amount of salary move out in a deal for a d-man.

I don't think there's any reason nto trade for Stamkos's rights. All teams can start talking to him on Saturday anyway. Vesey was important, as would have had to wait til 8/15

Agreed...but its finally time for big name UFA's to start coming to Buffalo...to start that flow we might have to overpay...it just so happens that this overpayment is for a superstar like stamkos

I'd gladly give up 12 for stamkos and suffer on our 4th line/3rd d pairing
