Agreed. Stamkos deal has already been signed with someone
- walshyleafsfan

The Rangers, coincidentally the same team Vesey has secretly chosen to sign with.

Boos - what role does Peter Donatelli have for Vesey? You mention Fish is his agent, then also mention Donatelli represents him too? Just looking for clarification, especially additional info on who it was that spoke about not signing before 8/15 to the media yesterday.

they're both with Global Hockey Consultants, the agency Vesey's with

Say whatever you want but in the end youll be rooting for an American to lead your team for the next three years even though its a Canadian sport right?

Key question here is whether or not on August 15th when he becomes UFA, does that mean he no longer has to sign an ELC? If he is exempt from ELC on 8/15, then I think there is no way he signs here before then. Does anyone know anything about this?

He can sign for more bonuses however...either way I am sure there is enough Pegula bucks to go around
- Beezer33

There's still a cap on the bonuses. Basically look at the structure of the 1st overall picks contracts the last few years. That's what he can get, with the exception of it only being able to be a 2 year deal, instead of a 3 year.

With bonuses, I believe the max he can get is $3.75MM per year.

Pleasantly surprised that the route I'm taking home tomorrow is "only" 13.5 hours. I've been thinking it was 16 hours this whole time.

Should be an interesting drive.

Vesey has always been plan A knowing the Eichel relationship and Murray's comment on a winger that can play with him..

Stamkos is 2nd priority and then they look towards D...they arent a fan of the FA d available so trade route makes the most sense...

If they can get Vesey signed which I believe they will, that first round pick could now def be a dman no matter where they pick..looking forward to attending that and seeing it all play out live away from the social media hype machines

- Beezer33

Stamkos is priority number 1 from what I was told and they have no problem going 10-11 a year for him.

I wouldn't rule the Rangers out for sure. No idea where they keep getting the cap space from, but they do.

Few things here: I bet he'll sign before July 1st so we dont need to really worry about the rest right? hah

But he is still signing the same deal whether he signs before July 1st or on August 15th. Its all about Bonus money in the end

They were talking about this on WGR yesterday. I would look at Justin Schultz's contract from when he refused to sign with Anaheim. If I remember correctly, he was only able to get the max of $925k in actual salary plus bonuses that would take him up to a max of $3.75MM.

Nope. He's under 25, so he has to sign the regulated ELC for 2 years.

Drive up is by myself, thankfully.

Drive back home in a couple weeks is all of us, but we'll be stopping along the way for a couple nights to visit inlaws.

Or look at Panarin, since he is more recent and I believe he hit all his bonuses.
