GMTM of Buffalo has already stated this offseason that he doesnt think Jack's long term LW answer is currently on the roster. Vesey and Jack play summer hockey together, and train together, and they are both represented by Mr. Fish. Oh, Jimmy is also Lt hand shot. Toronto can't gurantee a roster spot to him, they have too many prospects, ready to break down the door, and Lou Lou and Babs dont give roster spots to rookies. And Boston seemed like the only real competition for his services, to play in his hometown. Now if Pittsburgh want him, to play with Sid or Geno, that might entice him. I still think he ends up at LW for Eichel in the end.

The Sabres had 4 Third round picks. This is a gamble but its a low cost gamble.
It gives Murray and The Pegula's almost 2 months to convince Vesey that he fits perfectly into what they are building. He won't make any more money anyplace else so it is about how he thinks he fits and how comfortable he is in whatever city he signs with. Boston and Toronto make sense but so does Buffalo. If the Sabres buy out Moulson or find someone to take his salary, Jack is going to be looking for a roommate. He and Vesey are friends. Who knows, that might sway him. We will find out. I like that Murray is willing to take chances and I won't blame him if this one doesn't work out. It really didn't cost much to try.

Bruins had offered him the same if not more money than he signed w calgary for, he simply did not want to play in Boston, its a lot of pressure and some cant handle it.
