If he's willing to come here for $1-2 mil a year and be our 4th line center, cool. If not, down with MSG! - Bean_Dip
That article was from April 13th. I HAVE TO believe that even if there was interest at that point, it has dissipated.

Lol.
I blame my wishful thinking that we are done with the failed experiment of making our team older, slower and less apt to score!

I have tried to be optimistic and even tried to talk myself out of not getting angry about not trading Yandle for better assets when they had the chance.
Hindsight is a mother f*cker, I know this, but it's moves like this that compound prior mismanagement of assets that leads teams into the abyss and keeps them there for unsubstantiated periods of time.
Is losing Yandle the end of the world? No. It's not so much losing Yandle that set me off; it's the fact this team had no intention on keeping him beyond the remainder of his acquired contract and now all they have to show for this deal is Chris Summers and a sixth round pick.
It's brutal, no matter how anyone wants to spin this. |

Eric Staal could very easily return to NY.
If they can get him here, on a cap friendly contract, I have no issue with it. I don't think Eric Staal stays here at the end of the day, though. |

As evidenced by compounding matters by acquiring Staal for assets they really shouldn't be trading away anymore.
This wouldn't sting so much if they were somehow able to keep Duclair or their first. The fact they gave away both and lose Yandle for squat, with no titles to show for Yandle's time here makes this seriously one of the most mismanaged situations by any professional sports organization in recent memory. |

I hope he doesn't come back, that dude is done. I rather someone young come up and take that spot than him be here. |

I am not trying play martyr Ranger fan here because I know there are plenty of teams that have goofed up and mismanaged assets along with the Rangers.
But, the Kings do have two cups to show for their efforts and even though they look as much a mess, as the Rangers do today, they can at least hang their hats on those recent title seasons.
Hawks have mismanaged plenty and have given away picks, as if they were candy, but they can do that because they have won three times since 2010.
Rangers can't claim the same. |

Agreed, in this cap era teams have to be able to replenish the pro club from within their system. Keeping Eric Staal here prohibits a younger, faster and most importantly, a cheaper asset to help the club. |

If they play the rest of this summer, with a steady hand, they can easily get themselves right back in the thick of things.
They don't have an awful present core but they definitely need to fortify the blueline with a move or two and tweak the forwards a bit in order to look like a contender again.
As it stands now they are no better than the third best team in their own division. |

Pierre McGuire was on TSN1200 this morning and noted that Keith Yandle's brother is a scout for the Panthers and that he thinks Yandle will sign down there. |
