If he is a legit top 15 starter, then I don't mind what they gave up.

What is scary is that if he sucks, that is dead space on the cap for 5 years. To put it in perspective, it would almost undo the brilliance of getting rid of the Phaneuf contract, or the Clarkson contract.

I think the Leafs win this trade by a mile. Not that the Ducks lose it, I mean, they had to trade one of their goalies and you don't tend to get much for goalies, so no problem there.

But the Leafs are huge winners here. They get an above average starting goalie who's only 26 and has potential to be even better than he has been.

Not much risk either because odds are you don't get a starting goalie with either of those two picks. So for very little risk they get their goalie and still have a ton of extra picks.
