This comment is more so a question of my understanding... so bare with me.

Looking at nhlnumbers.com and their depiction of the Leafs cap space. They say it's 11.1 million, add 8.3 for Robidas and Horton's LTIR replacement we have 19.4.

We have RFA/Entry level deals to sign: Matthews, Holland, Corrado, Sparks, Carrick & Marincin (roughly 11-13 million)

Filling out the Roster with Nylander/Soshnikov/Hymen (3.5 million).

3 Million in space to this point.

So to sign Stamkos we'd need to get rid at least 2 of Bernier/Bozak/Lupul to even have a chance? Does that seem right? For some reason I thought our cap situation was much better.

So, we likely have to keep Lupul but can shed Bozak/Bernier (8.3 million). Plus the 3 million in space we have left that's 11.3 million. Stamkos commands 10 million and we are left with 1.3 million in space and ice a team consisting of:

JVR - Stamkos - Nylander
Lupul - Matthews - Michalek
Komorov - Kadri - Soshnikov
Laich - Holland - Hymen
Greening

Reilly - Hunwick
Gardiner - Zaitsev
Marincin - Corrado
Carrick

Andersen
Sparks

Anyone know if there is a cap on LTIR? If Lupul could be sent there that would greatly help us.

I did forget that! Thanks! I would like to somehow replace Lupul's spot on the team with Connor Brown and eventually bring up Leipsic for Greening. That would free up enough money to go after a Top 4 D which is the only glaring need in that lineup!
