This makes the Lehner "overpayment" not look like such an overpayment.

Could pan out big for yo uguys...

Always a gamble to take a back up goalie from a NHL leading team like that. Seems awfully similar to Bernier. They have amazing stats with one of the best teams int he NHL in front of them but when you put them on a diff team it is a different goalie.

Look forward to it.

Hardly a backup. Anaheim ran with a 1A/1B approach. Freddie's good and will make your team instantly better. He's calm and cool; should be able to withstand the Toronto media shi&^storm.

except andersen played more games than gibson and had more starts in the post season as well

andersen has proven himself as a starter unlike bernier or toskala before him

i love this move.

Seems to be a really solid goalie positionally. Price may be a little steep, but I'm happy the Leafs at least have a legit #1. I don't think he's going to steal the Cup, but we are going to see a lot fewer soft goals rolling in.

Regular season, Gibson and Andersen played literally almost the same # of minutes. Gibson had better stats. Andersen solid though.

It's not a high price for a sought-after young goalie with quality stats. Could be a Bernier 2.0, but he actually has playoff numbers.
- gravyface

No it's not bad, maybe just a bit of an over pay considering the Ducks had to move him.
