The beauty of it is we can still draft parsons in the 3rd round or with washingtons pick. To me he's worth the contract. Reimer is going to get around 5 million and he's not even close to andersons value.

Vollman may be self-important but he's not an idiot. The trade is excellent, but the signing is risky. Personally I believe it will work out; this is not reimer, nor bernier, being brought into a team with no focus. The organization has turned a corner and I think it's permanent this time around. Anderson is young and has obvious skill. Clearly they look at him and believe he can be a go-to guy, and by the time year 3-4 rolls around the deal will (hopefully) look pretty reasonable.

They really only have 58 Million with the Cowen buy out and Greening is going to be in the AHL (about 800K will be off the books) so that gives about 58 Million.

The majority of the 22 million in final year contracts are from Laich, Michalek Greening and Bernier. That total in 16 million. At least that's good news.

The signing won't automatically happen, but neither will Vessey going to free agency. Agents/GM's/Coaches say lots of stuff, for lots of reasons.

We just don't know. They could be working on a contract right now.

I like using anylitcis as a reference but when they tell you Franson is the best player in the NHL and the NJ Devils are one of the best teams then you know they aren't always right.

The onus will be for mgmt to make Toronto a safe place to play for all players including goalies, which means icing a team that won't give up 30+ shots per game.

Evan Fitzpatrick looks like he is worth a shot too..... any goalie being drafted this weekend still has a lot of work to put in before they are ready for any NHL team in 3-5 years

First of all.. is Vesey really all that good? Is he worth pursuing and giving a top 6 role? I'm sure he's ready for the big stage, but does he improve our top 6?

also he'll probably sign in Buffalo or Boston.. Seems like he wants to play with Eichel. Its not that easy to tell your friend (Jack) that the team he is stuck with isn't good enough for him.

If the Leafs do get him, does he take up a protection spot for the expansion draft?
