I dont even want Vesey. Too many guys we already have that are worth giving a shot to. Some with a much higher upside than Vesey. - systemtool

No they have enough cap space to sign stamkos - burn
just keep posting this every page.
and does anyone think that Lou would allow having a Bernier contract or a Michalek contract or having a Bozak contract as the blocker on his roster PREVENT him from doing what he wants?
ya... I can really see Uncle Lou telling Shanahan.... "Brendan we can't sign Stamkos because we have Bernier's contract against the CAP"...
Nonis- yes he would say something stupid like that.
Lou... never. |

[quote=senstroll]Morning
Morning
Rob Vollman @robvollmanNHL
That's a lot of $ for Andersen. Over 3 yrs, ranks:
13th by Quality Start Pct%
23rd by SV%
25th by Adj SV%
26th by home plate SV%
26th by xGS
Rob Vollman @robvollmanNHL
Andersen's value inflated by goal support of 3.11 (3rd in NHL), and facing especially soft opponents.
Rob Vollman @robvollmanNHL
I used to study the avg shooting pct% of teams goalies assigned to face. Only one goalie was facing noticeably easier opponents: Andersen.
oh
Vollman = aaszhole, Andersen save percentage in 2016 playoffs = .947 five games against Nashville. (Nashville not a soft opponent)
Note to all the idiots saying that Andersen was a backup - he started final game - winsix
Vollman may be self-important but he's not an idiot. The trade is excellent, but the signing is risky. Personally I believe it will work out; this is not reimer, nor bernier, being brought into a team with no focus. The organization has turned a corner and I think it's permanent this time around. Anderson is young and has obvious skill. Clearly they look at him and believe he can be a go-to guy, and by the time year 3-4 rolls around the deal will (hopefully) look pretty reasonable.

I find some other fans reactions funny.
On the other hand, I am not sold on Andersen either and I don't much like that contract.
I view this one as a wait and see move. It could be another in what is becoming a long line of bad Leafs goalie moves.

Yes..Bolded part is important... and Like I mentioned..if the Leafs can get even league avg or maybe slightly above out of andersen...that will go a long way in taking the team to the next step.

I really see it as the best we could do without giving up the farm, yet changing our starting goaltending...like BMac stated, no one would have batted an eyelash if we drafted an unproven goalie with our 30th....we know all too well that goalies are risky acquisitions...I think it was a worthy acquisition |

Maybe they're looking at the goalie class this year and saying "maybe parsons" but not blown away by anybody. 5 Years of andersen means they can just as well wait until next year's draft to grab someone and let Bibeau and Sparksy continue to play in the minors. |

6'4 goalie with upside signed for 5 years/5m through his prime. This is could work out well. And it could not. |

Only time will tell. Price was looking good for last season and poof, knee injury. Anything can happen. |
