At least last year there was a system and they were trying, and you could giggle at Babcock's permanent 'where-did-I-leave-my-damn-keys' expression. But yeah, I could definitely be accused of not watching the games. I mainly got the gist of it by refreshing this thread.

The Horachuk half season was...I don't know...the best way I could describe it would be being force fed dog poop, dog poop that was squeezed out of your own dog's bumhole by the car that ran him over in front of you, a really expensive car that was driven by a guy getting road head from your ex-girlfriend. I expect this year to be much better.

I'm printing this out and framing it.

The last backup goalie the Leafs traded for and signed worked out so well, so why not try it again?? LOL

Anderson is a huge goalie and built like an NFL Linebacker at 6'4" 240lbs. He's only 26 and could improve with the starting job guaranteed and no pressure from a guy like Gibson and outplayed by Pekka Rinne this spring. Though, he got absolutely picked apart by the Hawks in the 2015 WCF and has had a sub .920 save % in his first two seasons (with a superior defense in front of him compared to Morgan Reilly and...??). Also, seems like a bit of an overpayment on AAV+term for a guy that has 2 years of NHL experience and was splitting time in Anaheim. Good Luck!

if we used a high pick to pick a goalie thats 3 high picks burned for 1 spot..seems meh and overkill for 1 year.
- poohcrumbs

I said 2 years.....and you have about 20 draft picks.

Yeah, I don't want to sound like every Leafs fans since 1991, but frank, if we can just get one more top-4 defenceman, this team will be watchable next year.

I mean, they were franking putrid last year. I stopped watching.

Will they make the playoffs next year? Maybe, maybe not.

But at least I know I'm watching a product that will grow and get better. Not that bunch of crap castoff placeholder arse-faces that wore the blue and white last year.

*Wipes tear from eye.

That's locker room board material.

I didn't say use a high pick. Use the right pick to get the best goalie in the draft. Easier said than done

so they made a bad trade?

not sure what you mean?

- poohcrumbs

I mean what if they had only drafted Pogge and figured they were good? Why do you need to draft 20 D to fill 6 spots and 40 forwards to fill 12 spots but 1 goalie to fill 2 spots?

Yeah, but he won't have a starting job guaranteed.

He's going to feel constant pressure from Bernier, who is...

Oh, wait.

Forget it.

Id have to go back and see who drafted who, was it the same regime? and things like who was picked where and how they looked. But you do make a good point, too much of a good thing or a good prospect pool is never a bad thing

Do I detect a bit of jealousy from a fan whose team has an average at best goalie signed at $6 million for four more years. As good a GM as Bowman is, Chicago is in salary cap hell/jail for the foreseeable future. Enjoy Hossa at age 42 at a $5.275 cap hit I'm sure he will be just hitting his peak. Not sure - which free agents are the Hawks in on this year. Bag of farts on LW at league minimum.
