I agree. Johnny T is the guy the Leafs should be targeting. Stamkos is one heck of a player.....but I'd prefer JT.

He would be nice and the timing wouldn't be bad either....2 years BUT in 2 years signing him to a max deal would be like signing Stamkos now to a 9 year deal....age wise at the end.

People are female doging that Stamkos is going to be too old at the end of a 7 year deal from 26 years old now.

STAMKOS IS 6 MONTHS OLDER THAN TAVARES.

So we would be "maybe" signing Taveres in 2 years for a 7 year deal probably around $12m/year.

JT would be 2 years older at the end of that deal than if we sign Stamkos now for 7 years.

Still should draft one thou. It's actually a better situation for a young goalie prospect now. Andersen will give (hopefully) a lot of development time to any goalie coming in. I still think it makes a lot of sense to draft a goalie this year or next.
