Not bad. you're taking a gamble at 30 or 31 with one of those 3 goalies available. Leafs have plenty of picks anyways. |

Flames fan here looking to cop Bishop, MAF, or Elliot.
Was this an overpayment?
I was planning on the Flames trading for any of those 3 for a 3rd round pick, seeing that we had immense leverage with the upcoming expansion draft and salary cap issues. - BobHartley
The prices will come down the longer you wait.
I like that the leafs acted first and got the guy they were most interested; instead of the guy that is leftover.
Even if they had to pay a bit more to do it. |

Could pan out big for yo uguys...
Always a gamble to take a back up goalie from a NHL leading team like that. Seems awfully similar to Bernier. They have amazing stats with one of the best teams int he NHL in front of them but when you put them on a diff team it is a different goalie.
Look forward to it. - JVince11
This fact scares me too. Although, when the Leafs acquired Bernier, LA was IMO the most defensively sound team and getting I assume easier assignments behind Quick. At least Anaheim isn't nearly as defensive-minded meaning he could be a bit more suited to getting shelled a bit heavier.
Also, HOPEFULLY the Leafs will be improving in shot-suppression and possession which is a plus for any goalie. |

He might be looking for 5 Mill or more. Either way, good deal, nice big goalie. Bring Reimer back with him, take Bernier out back and shoot him. |

Value wise this deal is very good. On the high end of the history as it was a first and second like what Lehner went for but the absolute low end was likely a 2nd round pick and small piece and that is assuming Andersen was still on the board. No way he would have been.
Great value for Anaheim but no major loss for Toronto. |

bernier barely had any nhl experience when he got traded to the leafs while Andersen has 3 full seasons as a 1B starter. its kind of a different situation. |

Toskala, Bernier and now Anderson. Three west coast goalies, one from the Sharks, a no go, one from the Kings, a no go and now one from the Ducks, this better work out with all the picks already wasted with the previous two. |

He does not have to be Cary Price but at least perform to the league average consistently and I am ok with the deal |

Better than spending it on an 18-year goalie prospect. |

Throw raycroft on that scrap heap too.
the problem to me with the other trades was that we were using our own picks; and did nothing to recoup the picks. we were left short and our prospect cupboard remained bare.
I don’t mind trading other teams picks like this; especially when we still have our 1st and 2nd from both those years.

One of these West coast goalie acquisitions has to work out eventually right? I bet he knows who Morgan Freeman is too! I like it. |

Phil Kessel, 2016 61st pick, Biggs, Erixon
For
Kapanen, Harrington, Spaling*, 30th overall pick*, 72nd overall pick
*traded for Andersen (Spaling with Polak to SJ for 2017 & 2018 2nd round pick).
So basically Kessel, 2nd for Andersen, Kapanen, Harrington, 3rd. |

Sabres fan - as opposed to Lehner for a first rounder (21st) Leafs did just as well
if not better than the Sabres. |
