Just so we're clear, a team that claims to be significantly invested in analytics now has $9.15 million in cap space tied up in two goalies, and has left themselves only $5.5ish million in cap space going into free agency?

Good luck.

- BINGO!

I think they will be OK.

If I had computer skills I'd do a quick video of Dikembe Mutombo swatting away Babcock, McDavid and now Vesey while saying No, No, No. To each of them. Just for sabres fans

With Boyle's 4.5m, and Yandle's 2+ gone, they should have enough cap space to sign one player.

I don't know how they could sign Stamkos, but they should be able to re-sign their RFAs.

- Steven_Seagull

Not so easy. The have $20 million tied up in 5 d-men, $27 million in 7 forwards and $9.5 in two goalies. That's $56.5 million before mentioning any of their RFA's and being $14 million under the cap just to fill 9 roster spots.

RFA's include Kreider, Miller, McIlrath and Hayes - not so easy to do.

No wonder Sather wants to retire.

Guy with a cap floor team is over here talkin' big game.

You guys are treading water as a franchise, basically surviving on the league's pogey.

Only in that they can overspend on acquiring talent and not have it significantly impact their ability to keep their current youth.

I guess, or it's essentially 2 1sts. Glass half full or empty?
- golfingsince

You've got it wrong.

If it's 30th overall, it's basically a 2nd. If it's 31st overall it's basically a first.

Therefore, Leafs kept the better pick.
