High supply, limited demand. Eliminate a buyer and you have 7ish sellers looking to woo a couple of buyers. Value drops.

Is there really high supply though? I think Andersen and Fleury were the top two 100% available goalies. Andersen getting traded for a very high value shoudnt really hurt the market. I would have been very happy with that return for Fleury.

Fleury - Available
Bishop - maybe, Tampa doesnt need to trade him to protect Vasi.
Elliot - maybe and a tier down from Fleury
Crawford - Maybe. Chicago doesnt have a #1 quality backup like TB, PIT and ANA.

like i said more or less the same return (a pick in the 30-39 range and maybe another pick, and almost certainly a salary dump) is likely a fair return for Fleury from Calgary.

The problem isn't even the supply, but the buyers - Calgary is now the ONLY team in need of a goaltending upgrade that doesn't also have another contract clogging it up. Carolina would be too if they hadn't re-signed Ward.

I only brought it up because I've seen delusional Pens fans who think they're gonna get Brodie or something

Well, that sucks about Andersen. I was hoping Dallas would have been after him. Not that they weren't necessarily. I don't know. So there goes one name off the goalie list this summer. Great pick up for Toronto.

I suppose that leaves MAF, and possibly Bishop or Crawford available. Tho I doubt Chicago would deal Crawford to Dallas if they could help it. Bishop wont be cheap even if available. We gotta do something with the goaltending tho. Either buy one out or retain salary in some trade. Gotta bring in a #1. I cant see the Stars going into the playoffs next season, if we get in, with the same goalie combo we have now. Something's gotta give.

Goligoski is gone, and it doesn't look like Demers or Russell will be back with the overflow of young D ready to make the jump, so the money is there. I expect something to happen, but the Andersen trade irks me. Oh well.

I'm still really confused how me simply asking if that was fair is thinking we're going to get him. I wanted input, that's all.

So, do you just get off from making others look bad?

You guys can always call Vancouver. I'm sure they'd take one of your goalies.

Ok...how about a three way trade? We'll send Lehtonen to Vancouver for Miller, and then ship Miller to you guys for Fleury?

That's fine. I'm sure we can send Miller right back to VAN for their 1st rounder and some change.
