He could...and that still might not be a bad trade for Chicago. The salary cap doesnt allow for a perfect world and perfect roster moves. Whatever he becomes in Carolina is no guarantee he wouldve done so in Chicago, so I think the point is moo - YuenglingJagr
You also have to wonder a little how he does with less depth and talent around him. He could flourish but he also could struggle if other teams are matching against him. |

How about this
To CAR, WPG, ANA or FLA : 2016 2nd, 2016 3rd
To PHI: 21st overall, 22nd overall, 23rd overall OR 24th overall
Draft Kunin, McCovy, or Fabbro at 18
Draft Asplund, Gauthier, Debrindecat, etc at 21, 22, 23,or 24 |

Take Gudas out. You would have to add one of Morin/Provorov IMHO to get that deal done. |

From what I saw (which could be observation bias) but he was in fact over matched by the bigger teams in the west...maybe he works out better in the east. I think it really doesnt matter.
You have a core that has proven they can win multiple championships, and you have players that have proven to compliment them well. I dont really think it makes any sense to trade a guy that has proven chemistry and fit on the roster over a guy that doesnt given their timeline. Who really cares how good Teravainen is when the chicago core well past their prime |

FWIW: From Garths blog. Take with a grain of salt.
**
I'm nearing a ton of chatter involving the Edmonton Oilers trading their fourth overall pick. The #4 and Jordan Eberle have been linked to Buffalo who want to jump up from #8.
Philly selects 18th and they have been linked to the 4th pick and Eberle.
What would that costs? Have to be defensive prospect going to EDM. - J35Bacher
It would cost sanheim, schenn, #18, 2017 1st
Funny thing is they already had sanheim in jultz |

I mean Chicago didn't do bad in getting back 2nd and 3rd round picks and didn't keep any money. It's not like they are 4th and 5th rounders.
Also the success Parnarin showed seemed to make TT expendable. They also now can try to resign Shaw who they seem to value more than TT. They also signed Schmaltz and have Hartman coming. I didn't think it was as terrible as people made it.
I thought both teams got things they wanted. |

Probably more. Oilers aren't trading Hall or 4th overall unless they get a huge haul |

I don't know if I want to go to 4. I either want to get to 2 or 3. If not them then I am not sure I see a huge difference between 4-20. All those players have warts and all have strengths depending on what the drafting team sees.
I would rather try to give up less and take yakupov with the 4th instead of Hall. |
