I keep reading and hearing that Columbus wants to move back from 3. What would you offer to get there? I would assume 18 and a defensive prospect. Would you include Schenn or Simmonds? Laughton? Would you add a 2nd rounder instead of a plyer?
Just curious. The comparisons I hear to Jesse Puljujärvi's game is a Selanne type.
Would literally have to be Sanheim, 18th, Hagg and one or both of our 2nd rounders... intriguing, but if it costs that, which is probably what EDM would be smart to request, its most likely too much.
But, Oh my God if we could get Tkachuk - PVL29
For Eberle and the 4th? Gonna be more than Sanheim, Hagg and the 3 picks. The problem with an Edmonton trade, the Flyers and Oilers have the same biggest need-a NHL level, number one defenseman.

Laine is more Selanne than Puljujarvi. Some feel that ultimately he will end up a center. I have to say he reminds me a bit of Marian Hossa when his game is really on. Forechecks hard, can be an absolute bastard on the puck.

I saw others say the other way.
But both guys I would love. I think both make the team right away and both add size and skill.

True, Laine is more physical than Selanne. But he finds spots and shoots like Selanne. Puljujarvi is a smooth player. Laine has been more consistent the past 12 months.
I'd happily take either and have an all star or elite level forward for the next decade

And both guys bring everything the Flyers want. Size and Skill.
I could be wrong but I would offer Simmonds in a deal to get to 2 or 3.
I agree with Marc. I think there is a good chance they regret trading Teravainen. He could very well blossom in Carolina with more ice time. - MJL
They have Schmaltz on the way though. Extremely skilled, willing to take and make body contact, top 6 potential. He may need some time in the AHL but don't sleep on this kid. CHI fans believe he could develop into their 2nd line center down the road. Reminds me of a smaller Jason Spezza

4th overall
Taylor Hall
for
Travis Sanhiem
Wayne Simmonds
18th
Gudas - Winning
Meh. Still don't think EDM does this. They should either stand pat and draft Tkachuk/Puljujarvi or try to get Shattenkirk/Petriangelo out of STL. Sanheim doesn't help them right now, Gudas is not a top defenseman, Simmonds would be a nice piece for them but he's such an integral part of our leadership group at the moment.

Yeah a lot of scouts say Puljujarvi is more comparable to Selanne with skating and shooting, where as Laine is a bit more bull and has been more consistency so far (which is why Laine is being ranked higher). It really is a toss up between the two, very tough who will be better IMO.

He could...and that still might not be a bad trade for Chicago. The salary cap doesnt allow for a perfect world and perfect roster moves. Whatever he becomes in Carolina is no guarantee he wouldve done so in Chicago, so I think the point is moo
