Despite that comment. What picks in your opinion has he made that show that trend?

Are you worried he thinks there is skill so he can focus on size? I dunno man I just see 2 years worth of valuing skill so I'm not too worried about what he might say in an interview

- YuenglingJagr

None frankly. He's gone BPA. Every pick has been good with ceiling and based not on position or size but...best hockey player available. Maybe Dove McFalls (remember he exists haha?) was a bit of a defense/size/low ceiling reach, but he was the lone one. And he was surrounded by more of the former types.

I understand the drafts have been a bit smaller on the forward front, but our top 6 is loaded with size right now. We need skill to get to that next level. Hextall has been quite vocal this offseason about addressing "size." I hope it's lip service and he isn't passing on potential stars for it. Hexy is still surrounded by a lot of the old boys.

Matthews goes wire to wire as TSN's top prospect

I didn't see Dmitri Sokolov on the list, and I'm wondering what the feeling is on him. He seems like a good goal scorer who can get his shots off. He played on a pretty bad team, and I wonder if his numbers would improve if he was on a better roster. His all around game doesn't seem that bad. He's no two-way masterpiece but he didn't exactly float around on defense. I'd probably have him around 60 on my list, and wouldn't be mad if the flyers drafted him at 52. Big goal scorers are hard to come by.

Wow what a strange list. Abramov at 51 screams this year's Kucherov. Dahlen not even in 2nd. Logan Stanley above Rubtsov.

I am completely ok with the draft going the way of this ranking. Just some really surprising things. I was big on Borgstrom and they have him as almost a 1st. Other stuff too. Kunin, Abramov, AND Dahlen sounds like a fine draft to me personally.

I feel like there is some industry sand bagging going on with Dahlen, the kid is just so skilled. I doubt he even falls into the 40s much less the 60s.

In this case, I hope there isn't industry sand bagging and we snatch him haha. But how anyone could rank Joey freakin' Anderson above him is beyond me....talk about a coat-tail rider. All he does is sit in front of the net or clean up some loose pucks from Keller and Bellows.

It actually isn't that inaccurate in play style. Lightning release, similar size, high compete level, smart defensive player, center/wing versatility, Wisconsin, both known to be massive chokers who wilt under pressure.

Yeah I understand and agree that SDMcF is the most obvious one. I do trust him though

Only laughing because 2Real.

I'd be more than happy with him at 18. Not the sexy pick, but a good value pick where we are.

It's been like 2 weeks and still nothing about rounds 5-7. I don't even remember the names of the guys I picked out anymore

They want to reach for one or two in rounds 4-7, be my guest, so long as they're not lugs. They want to take one early because they truly have that size/skill combo, be my guest. I just don't want them passing over dynamite players who ooze skill and smarts over conservative, low ceiling, big guys....with early picks, at the least.

I trust Hextall too. After all, what GM doesn't say they are looking to upgrade on skill and size? Deep Roy? We shall see in a handful of days, but I do hope he sticks to his guns.

I have a couple dozen. It really depends on how it shakes up in previous rounds or who is reached on, but I do have a bunch of names of players I would take around those rounds.

I'd list some, but given you know none of them and they are just names, it seems rather pointless haha

Where is this size you speak of ? G? Nope. Jake? Nope. Schenn? Nope. Simmonds. Yes. Rafl ?!?!? No. Read? Nope. Cousins ? Nope. Laughton ? No.

We need size with skill. Around 6ft3 225. One of them. And another 6ft to 6ft 2

You know whose roster averaged the same size as the Flyers?

The team that won the Stanley Cup.

The only player in the top 6 without "size" is G. And lord knows he is one of the feistiest guys in the league. Jake is a beast. Coots is a beast. Simmer is a beast. Raffl plays a strong, physical, power forward game. So does Schenn, and he hits like a truck. I don't think you need size to win, but I just dispute the idea that the Flyers are small, or even less so that they are soft. Their averages are weighted down (and heighted down?) by the bottom 6 and a small d corps. That they mostly suck is more the paramount issue for me haha.

Compared to other clubs, I don't seen them playing tough and physical imposing hockey.

They need more skill but line 3 and 4 need more snarl. I like my teams a certain way

Or maybe they have access to different analytics.

Like the analytics that showed that Andrew Hammond wasnt a flash in the pan

the analytics that showed Niemi was worth the contract Dallas gave him

Or Lehtonen

Or Bobrovsky

Or Miller

Or Bernier...
