Who said the goalie market was weak/terrible the other day? I'm taking calls on Neuvy if I'm Hexy. |

I think ufa market is different from rfa market. But it's much higher than I expected and the way it seems. Higher than they needed to pay. |

I am equally surprised. Before I wanted to dangle Neuvy to get more pick(s) but knew we wouldn't get back value that equals to what Neuvy could do this year for us , and with us not keeping both him and Mason beyond this season. But after today, I wouldn't be mad if Hexy could take advantage with the already moves setting the market somewhat. What do you think Neuvy realistically could fetch? |

I will never understand NHL GMs. It seems like there is always one or two that just don't get it or do something cause they feel they need to.
Even a team that says they are all into advanced metrics and value. They go and pay THAT for Anderson? I'm not saying the draft picks themselves but the contract as well.
With all the stats in the world regarding goalie talent and performance they go tie up 10 million into those two. Maybe they haven't come as far as everyone thinks haha |

Or maybe they have access to different analytics.

With Andersen moved, still think Fleury's going to Calgary, but what Toronto paid is a funky little comparable that the Flames may not want any part of
I think Andersen's a good goalie, but for being under the gun like they were, Bob Murray did get a lot |

If we moved Neuvirth though wouldn't we have to sign another vet goalie to at least a two year deal? If we protect Mason wouldn't we have to put someone out there that meets game requirements for the expansion draft that Stolarz would not meet?
Not saying we should move him but I'm just curious if that would be something we would have to account for. |

Looking through the back-read, I agree that's the funky part -- it's the contract value/term that leaves me scratching my head and makes it hard to argue that the Pens shouldn't get something close to that for Fleury. While Fleury's older, it can be argued pretty easily that he's a better goalie than Andersen
