What happened to Boston? I thought they were just waiting for Yandle to be available this time. (okay... each time they're the front runner on Yandle. Friedman hasn't gotten the memo.) - mayorofangrytown
According to Dreger, the Bruins are in on Shattenkirk |

It's the Pens first so it's pick 30. Basically tow seconds. Technically a 1st and a second. I think the Leafs did okay with that trade if Anderson performs.
Problem is... goalies go there to watch their career tank. The team in front of them has been horrid and so any soft goal becomes magnified. - mayorofangrytown
I just don't think Anderson is anything special. Is he really that much better than Reimer? |

He's posted really solid numbers behind Anaheim's defense the last 3 years. |

That's the thing. They keep throwing assets at goalies then bailing on them when they can't turn back 40+ high quality shots on a nightly basis. |

Best to ship him before Carlyle's system tanks his stats. Anaheim is the new Toronto. |

And Leafs have re-signed him to a 5 year deal, per Lou Lamoriello |

Career .918 save percentage. Even strength save percentage puts him middle of the pack as well. |

Goalie market the last 2 seasons seems to have gone up. First Jones, this. Makes you wonder what Neuvy could fetch. 2 not exactly starters of similar age have gotten essentially 1st round picks. - Mononoke
It really makes no sense to me. You got some getting traded for first rounders. Some that can't be given away. Some that get traded for Cory Conacher or Leighton and a 3rd. The veteran goalie market looks like it will be really weak...there weren't many options for a young goalie on the cheaper side |

I don't think so. Fancy stats show he faced higher quality shots though |

They gave up what will likely be 2 top 35 picks and signed him to a 5 year $5.5M AAV contract |

The picks aren't nearly as bad as that contract looks. On the other hand, they have cap space and if you want to lure Stamkos to TO you need to have a goalie in place. |

Stamkos isn't signing there and I don't believe they'll pursue him much either |

Hot in the fire I've heard Toronto, Florida, Montreal, Arizona and Detroit.
Detroit needs to move Datsyuks contract to make that happen. Stamkos is not going to Montreal (the tax rate is a big blockade, no one signs there), Arizona(?) why?
So that leaves Toronto, Florida and Tampa. I don't see why he would move across the damn state.
You must think he's going back to Tampa if you think he won't be in Toronto.
How's my work? I showed all of the all of it. |

It stinks when there's no hockey, but these next 2 weeks are definitely my favorite part of the offseason. I'm loving the level of activity so far today. |
