Deal - Kinggilmour
I remember you calling the winnik deal so i'll give you that |

This is not a good year for Goalies, I wouldn't waste the 30th or 31st pick on one. |

This team still needs picks. They have a lot of nice looking prospects but not all will pan out. Better to over saturate the pipeline than fill it half way. - BetterCallSaul
teams have a maximum of 50 contracts.... managing prospects is still important.
drafting college players that aren;t signed to contracts in the first couple years of development may be a rout to explore. |

That one I posted the exact dollar amount and term 3 weeks prior to the announcement. To be honest, I was sitting with Pat Morris as he was talking with Winnik....a lot of my "source" comes from him.....and a few red wing guys.. |

You broke a few to us. I credit you more than Eklund that's for sure.
But more importantly I do agree with you about stamkos. Now I have no close "sources" but I do know a few guys who's played with some high level players and some being in the Tampa organization. One on the crunch. And apperently a lot of those guys think Stamkos is signing in Toronto. |

I don't like that. I would rather obtain a stop gap that would cost a heck of alot cheaper and parlay JVR into picks and/or prospects. We aren't contending anytime soon so why the rush?
In the Calgary thread, someone was floating #6 for JVR with some moving pieces. I would be open to that.
We could also kick the tires on Lindholm and see what else it would take to get him along with JVR. Lindholm is great and will be an elite defenceman, but Anaheim also want to win now with Getz, Perry, etc. - PhilMcCracken
Anaheim won't be trading Lindholm. He's more important to them than Vatanen. That would be like Toronto trading Reilly. |

My biggest concern with signing stammer is, will Lou let him use his number? He dosn't seem to like high numbers and nylander had changed when he was called up. stammers not even here yet and already has a problem with mgmt, (frank)
He'll sign for 9.1 his number |

I think JB could be your guy if you fix up your defense a little bit. No need for the next Felix Potvin. But I don't watch the leafs so I have no idea.

Very true. Though it is a little different. Reilly can be moved if we were a playoff team and had Fowler, Vatanen, & Theodore in our pipeline with a need up front.
They also have to think about the expansion draft as they are posed to lose one of Fowler, Vatanen, or Lindholm. That being said I would rather just trade Bieksa & his NMC for whatever I could get retaining as much salary as I needed to.
Anaheim's defense is a good problem to have. |

I have a source connected to the Leafs, and he told me "the Leafs will try to sign a couple of UFAs in the summer."
Now, if I'm right, that'll prove that I have a source, but if I'm wrong, I'll come up with an excuse as to why it didn't happen. Deal? |

James Reimer is our next Daniel Winnick....except if he does well he will be here to stay....source: "me and my gut".
And, I for one think the KGilmore's rumor/predictions seem solid so I go with him and not the dude from that poop city across the border from Niagara Falls.

Bernier happened to the Leafs.
were the defense to blame when he let the puck into his own net from shots from the opposition blue-line or on an icing? |

Going to the favorite team bashing speaks volumes.
I will tell you what.
If Stamkos signs for 9.1 to 9.3 in Toronto, I will come on here and tell you that your are right about everything and pledge $500 dollars to a charity of your choice.
If that he does not, you pledge $2000 to a charity of my choice. Deal? - rmiethaner
I would like to volunteer as said charity. |

seriously, perfect player to offer Keon's number to.... put Keon's number up in the rafters and ask him allow Stamkos to wear it.
solves three problems
1) brings Keon back into the fold in real way - jersey raising and all
2) celebrates Keon during centenial year
3) going back to 60's era looking jersey
4) #14 with C on it
5) keeps Uncle Lou happy
