I'd do that......value wise. But as I said, that leaves a huge hole on the left side. They'd have to have a contingency plan or consider moving someone like Nylander there.....Although I think he's more suited to play the right side. Komarov is an option along with Kadri if need be.

I don't think JVR would be as hard to replace as you seem to. Fowler is better than you give him credit for and there is no way the Ducks trade Lindholm for anything short of a Nylander. A good goal tender is more valuable to this team than a good LW.

I do agree, even though I'd (and many others) would rather have Lindholm..but getting both Andersen & Fowler for JVR (maybe +) would literally kill 2 birds with 1 stone . Have an actual starter who's proven .. and a top 4 of Rielly/Fowler/Gardiner/Zaitsev would be pretty sweet..

I agree losing JVR would hurt. That said, I'm not fully convinced that it is a huge hole. Wingers can play on their off-wing. Some even prefer it. There are lots of wingers in the Leafs system.

Remember when Lupul was PPG and an All-Star? You think he was playing RW with Kadri when that happened?

Maybe it's not fair value for Fowler. In that case, maybe it becomes a more minor deal for Andersen and forget moving JVR at all. Just exploring possibilities

Lupul IS a left winger. It was only considered off wing cuz he's right handed, but that means very little in today's NHL.

My preference would be to keep JVR....for now anyway. He's signed for two more years so there's some time to decide. If he clicks with 91 or 34, then attempt to re-sign him. Having said that, if they do deal him, I'd prefer it was Lindholm coming back as opposed to Fowler. Otherwise, just make a smaller deal for Andersen and be content with that.

You could be right but it all depends on what Murray is thinking. Being in their window to win, would acquiring a JVR be worth a Lindholm, especially considering Theodore is ready and a similar player?
