Murray saying that they will definitely trade one of their goalies. Time to get one for the Leafs. Could JVR land a defenseman and goalie or no? I worry about losing JVR. Not much on the wings after he goes. Unless we find a way to dump a bunch of salary and get Stammer and Okposo. - iTOLDu
Don't want him. Let him go to Buffalo where he can become the next Matt Moulson. |

#BREAKING - Ducks and Leafs in heavy discussions. Names being thrown around: Andersen, Fowler, JVR. Don't be shocked if Andersen is a Leaf.

Pissy little note, for which I am famous:
As per NHL CBA, players can't do endorsements for alcohol.
Although (once again, because they threw together the CBA in 12 minutes) it says nothing about endorsing legal marijuana. - Atomic Wedgie
Actually... I was wondering if that may be the case as I was typing it. I could not remember a player endorsing alcohol.

That's a shame. I could see Brad Marchand as the face of Lakeport Lager.

It's hard to imagine that if the Leafs get Stamkos they would then move one of their only true top 6 wingers...JVR to the Ducks for D and G does make a lot of sense though.
I keep thinking Hartnell may be picked up by the Leafs after I read that he agreed to waive his NTC....Bozak/picks/prospects maybe?
So if we lose JVR, are there any 26/27 yr old top 6 wingers besides Okposo or Hartnell that are available? |

Not a chance. Gotta have Fowler too. Even if we have to add 31, I'd still do it |

Hartnell is 34.
3 years left on his contract.
That doesn't scare you a little? |

Well, remember that Stammer played with Killorn and Callahan.
You could put Lupul/Michalek (shared duties since one or both is always hurt) and Marner on his wings and I think they would do just fine |

would JVR for Andersen + 24 be interesting? Or something like JVR + for Andersen, Fowler, 24 . Then possibly flip 24+30+ w/e for a top 10 pick? |

Brashear once did.
And apologized.

In all seriousness this might be the most racist hockey related article I've seen. Brashear and Laraque might both be black, but they are separate people. Or are all black hockey players responsible for the actions of others?

Brashear apologizes after appearing in alcohol ad
Tuesday, Oct 13, 2009
MONTREAL(AP) —NHL tough guy Georges Laraque(notes) of the Montreal Canadiens is apologizing after appearing in an advertisement that violates NHL rules regarding alcohol.
The ad for an alcoholic beverage shows Brashear playing street hockey with several scantily clad women, and it has drawn the ire of the NHL and some women’s groups.
League officials sent The Canadian Press a copy of Article 25.1 of its collective bargaining agreement with the players’ union that states no player can sponsor or endorse an alcoholic beverage. Asked whether Laraque might be punished, the league said there would be no further comment.
An apologetic Laraque said after practice on Tuesday that he should never have appeared in the ad, was sorry if he offended anyone, swore he donated the proceeds to an animal-rights group, and promised to work for a women’s cause in the future.

Reimer had just got them to the playoffs, won game 5 and 6 for them and then had a couple bad breaks game 7.
I get it if he was a bit miffed
Bernier did nothing but suck |
