This is the first year they can do it, so I'm not too sure, to be honest.

I'm guessing (!) that you can talk to a free agent to be, but can't actually announce anything until July 1st.

We should probably get clarification on this, because I don't want to slip and fall on the wet floor here in the Leafs thread, when Vancouver fans come in here next week and start raining down tears and blubbering on about collusion.
