You got banned for chirping Ron or Jeropotato? Either way, they deserve it

Iggy returned, it was like a comedy of circle jerk jerking their way to the bottom, you're right though, Jero is not to bad, he's entertaining at least, but the air was thick with self flagation and dense with desire as they vocabubated over their line up of all Stars. Oh and the Gudbranson trade was just the Worst, much worse then any trade that they would ever make. On a good note I may have taken Ron down with me.

I still think that trading for Hartnell 3x 4.75 is not a bad idea. He would be cheaper than Brouwer and brings the same. I would trade Higgins for him.

If I had to give up an actual asset, I wouldn't.

Hartnell takes up a protection spot tho. Unless he waives and we are allowed to not protect him. Don't make sense. Unless we get a prospect or pick with him. For 3 years remaining it better be a real good one. Bickell only has 1 year left and CAR got TT.

This draft/free agency period is going to be interesting.

I don't think they have finalized the cap yet with the escalator. a few good ufa's hitting the market with the usual talk of them wanting the big paydays.

Some clubs feeling the cap crunch.

Hoping JB can take advantage of another club or can work something out with a UFA like Eriksson. We need scoring.

Brouwer shouldn't be more expensive - his numbers have never been as good as Hartnells - mind you he is 4 years younger but I don't think we need the price tag attached to Hartnell by the time he's 37 - (I see him in the Doan spectrum - he could still be that good in the twilight of his career but its a big gamble)

There are younger options out there and we got the cap to afford it.

1. Okposo, he will probably fetch between 5-6 but he puts up good numbers and he's 28 and could be a nice building block moving forward.

2. I 'd love to see Boedker play with the Sedins too - he's a big boy that could create space for them and he got great hands at 26 - don't think he'll break the bank either.
I really want to see the team continue to grab players in the 25-30 age range.
3. McGinn is my other vote.
I do agree Eriksson and Hartnell are great additions but I think there are better fits out there.

Well that's because of Howard Stern, not Taylormade lol
- MaWLz

I'm pretty sure they said it during a Taylor made commercial. Anyways, it's pretty stupid. I googled Howard stern and you are correct. Some people even said hearing that got them into golf lol.

Well he's still better then Strombo to me.. But like I suggested at the beginning of the thread, James Duthie would be my #1 choice
- MaWLz

I gotta say Duthie would be my choice as well, but I don't really have an issue with Strombo. I think he comes off as a genuine fan, which i think people find relatable. He's less biased than most of those guys, and who cares if he's not an expert that's not what he's there for, he's there to prompt the others and keep the conversation moving which he does well.

Doesn't Hartnell only have a NTC? If that's is the case he does NOT force protection. This was already confirmed a while back

The only contract clauses that force protection are NMC that run through 2017-18. This includes ANY limited NMC (IE. Marc-Andre Fleury) but doesnt include NMC that change to NTC next year (IE. Dan Girardi).

EDIT. I see it is a NMC and that makes it forced. I have become less interested in Hartnell.

Brouwer is 4 years younger and Hartnell production is on the decline. Like the player but the term isn't so great. Hope the Habs make a pitch for Brouwer, would fit nicely on our 2nd line.

I'm willing to accept guys like macdonald and clarkso, and deals like kesler will look bad eventually ...but Chicago had Kane and toews for way way under their market value and won cups ...this is part of the price they have to pay for the 3 cups

I don't find it surprising that they'd let him walk.

i would have guessed they'd offer him the minimum and waive to Utica for depth. better options for 3rd and 4th line

also heard Etem has yet to be qualified.

It would be nice if Vey's rights could be traded for a late round pick. I give JB a bit of credit on moving on from something that isn't working.

I like the looks of this draft. I'd be happy with any of the numbers 3 - 5 though. But if Puljujarvi landed at 5, I'd be pleased.

I like that he has no problem admitting mistakes. Vey didn't workout, move on. I do hope they qualify Etem though
