On that I would agree if that is the ambiance they are going for. This yelling after the tee shots in major tournaments (and more) is bush league.

I play golf. I understand that it's a sport of concentration but what professional sport is not?

There is a group of us that go out and hack around the course, talking the whole time, even while we are hitting the ball. One of the guys smokes the whole time because his wife doesn't let him.

I always feel sorry when a single player gets sent out with us. Guys have walked away from our group by the 9th hole.

Macleans time was done. Strombo may not have been the popular choice at the time but did ok IMO. If they really wanted to move forward with it they could have chose way better than Maclean. Oh well I guess it's more NBC viewing.

That's the difference of course. If etiquette calls for it then fine…but there will be times where the game of golf demands quiet under serious circumstances which I am ok with. I have played tournament golf and play with my buddies every weekend. I could care less if my buddies are blasting Music from the golf cart or talking while I am putting…but when I am in tournament golf it's different. Just depends on the situation I guess.

Good stuff though. We took on a member at a local course last year who was a total tool. One of my co-workers actually played a joke on our threesome saying that we personally requested to play with this member…he had two gloves and a 45 second warm up(for every shot) like judge Smails from Caddyshack. You honestly had to see it to believe it. We became so obnoxious he finally left our group at the 14th hole.

My co-worker laughed his ass off all the way to car as we were teeing off on the first hole.
