I've never even heard of Murmur or Reckoning, so clearly my opinion isn't a fully-informed one. I'm (very) skeptical, but will give them a shot....

I gave the Pixies another shot yesterday.....still came to the same conclusion.

Don't worry. We'll get some enforcers like the Pens did
- walshyleafsfan

I don't want us or the league to go back to the enforcer, knuckle dragging goons. There is a difference to having the goon to having big strong wingers. We went and drafted some great skill guys, all small. If you or other Leaf fans can't see that we need to increase our size up front then It's no use me trying to explain things.

I agree - Crosby Malkin are fairly big boys - Marner / Nylander not so much.

I'm no sure who I'd like to add - Lucic 3-5 years ago maybe - I guess Matthews will be a good start

Scout Two: “I take Eichel over the pair of them. I just see Eichel having better skating, some speed, another gear that
- GilPerreault11[Matthews and Laine] don’t have and I think that’s going to help him out and make him better longer into his career than the other two. And I think Eichel’s skill level is ahead of Matthews—[Eichel] gets underrated by a lot of people on that count."

http://www.sportsnet.ca/h...thews-three-scouts-weigh/

I think it's time to keep it in your pants until he plays a game or two or maybe a season in the NHL. Man you are wired, and by the way, the rebuild is not over. All these young players are not HOFers.

Ima wait till I see them play a chunk in the nhl before any "best in the nhl" proclamations

That said, I did the same with eichel and the guy is so so good.
He got dismissed quickly cause it was clear that mcdavid was freak show good. But for reals, eichel ain't that far behind. He's abit more robust than Connor with a shot that's certainly better imo.

Maybe Matthews will be better than eichel, but that takes a lot to assume as eichel is going to be a superstar

Didn't the Marlies get a bit intimidated by Hershey?

I thought Eichel looked great any time I watched this year.

Yeah, the guy is the goods

But It's always the next hot sh1t prospect is better.

And admittedly I've only seen a little of Matthews and I wouldn't be willing to say at this point.
But if he is in fact better than jack eichel, the leafs are amped

I'd be grumpy too if I were a Sens fan. That whole situation is a dumpster fire. Enjoy your zero cups and salary cap limit!

But hey. They have Phaneuf. All 100% of his contract too.

Not really. I'd say that no matter who was drafting him. He's legit - huge, can skate, has crazy vision, the defense of Kopitar but better offense. Yeah, I think that'll do.

Consider that I've also written many times that I think Kopitar might be the best all-round player in hockey, you have to think I'm going to be loco for a guy who plays like him but has better scoring and is going to my favorite team.

I can't think of a better thing than winning the lottery and drafting Mattews that has ever happened to the Leafs in the 30 years I've been a fan.

That's why I actually feel good for TO fans. A fanbase we are suppose to hate. They've had it rough. Let them feel optimistic. Let them be happy.

But we can still hate the 2 major sport networks that shove everything TO down our throats. (even though its suppose to be a national broadcast) I loved tuning in to watch highlights. Having to wait 25mins to see anything other than Raptors coverage.

Thank god for pvr.

Yeah I'd prefer to see the Canadian teams all doing well because it's great for rivalries and playoffs, and in any sport it's nice to see teams that have been down get back in the mix. I think any hockey fan would get up for Leafs vs. Habs in the playoffs, or the western teams battling.

National broadcast starting off with their biggest audience? What dumbass jerks they are. They should start every night with Kyle Turris and Sens talk followed by Ladd and the Jets

The rebuild in Toronto is over if they add Stamkos.

Stamkos, Kadri, Matthews down the middle. Gardiner and Reilly on D, plus whoever they get for JVR. And Nylander, Marner, Kapenan, Brown, Komarov on the wings.

Just sign Reimer and cake-walk to the biggest single season point increase in NHL history.

- James_Tanner

It looks very promising but you might want to take a step back and wait to see what pans out and how they actually play as a team.....least you forget the eerily similar statements you've been making about the Oil for the past 3 years.

All the Leafs have right now is promise, but if they could add Stamkos and a goalie I'd bet on playoffs.

A goalie can be easily had you would think. So many options out there with expansion looming.

Those options might not materialize until later in the year, and i'm pretty sure the Leafs won't even sniff the playoffs with Bernier if that happens.
Might have to overpay now.

Can't figure what other sports team that was playing in Canada at the time they should be rushing to focus on. Any suggestions? The pickering vultures? The moncton grassgreens? Or did you mean all the other canadian teams and cities that had teams in the nhl nba playoffs and mlb regarding season.
