There's a slew of players I take before Max Jones and Julien Gauthier, especially Jones.

Rubtsov, Mcloud, Chychrun, Kunin, Cholowski all guys that could he there that I'd take over those two. I've seen Fabbro and Bellows pretty low in some drafts and Id take either of them over any of the aforementioned players in this post.

I don't think Max Jones is a first round talent, personally. If the Flyers want Gauthier they may be able to trade back. I see him going early 20s.

Agreed. They should be able to move back 4 or 5 spots and still easily be able to grab one. Worst case scenario they're both gone and you take Tufte.

I'm still a little hesitant to trade back but at the same time I'm also really hoping Hexy picks up another 2nd or 3rd somehow. I would love to jump up to the beginning of round two. Lotta sleeper picks there this year.

I have had this thought for years. One of the players traded for Lindros was Mike Ricci. He was taken I think only one pick before the Pens snagged Jagr. How great would this team have been with 10 years of Forsberg and Jagr playing together???? Flyers wern't sure how easy it would be to get Jagr out of Europe and wanted help right away. 20-20 hind sight for what it is worth.

That wasn't him. He was the one who received the pass and scored. What a bum.

Ohh really? Who was the guy that made the play. Want some of that.

Tufte doesn't scare you?

A first round pick for a guy with the whole high school hockey thing.

Scares the beejeesus out of me.

Secret wet dream. Flyers draft a guy simply because he is good at shootouts. Can suck ass and play 3min a game but I want a fellow for that.

He's definitely a long term prospect. From what I've seen Ive liked though. Seems to have good skills with the puck. Honestly to me it looks like he needs to learn to use his size more than anything. The playmaking instincts seem to be there.

Id still much rather they find a way to get Bellows, Rubstov or Kunin.

Concerns me, because he wasn't all that good when he played the next level up.

I'm not a huge guy when it comes to these kids. I think I read that he's still playing high school hockey.

Might as well have drafted me 8years ago.

This intrigues me but I wouldn't do the trade until we are on the clock.

Preferably I wouldn't want to move back past 25. 22 and 36 from Winnipeg looks pretty damn good though.( I imagine we'd have to include a mid round pick in this scenario)

Yeah I agree. Been staring at those two consecutive picks and thinking the Leafs have a poop load of picks. Thinking they might wanna move up.

Yeah, I mentioned the same thing the other day. It's hard to come up with a good offer for those two picks. The best I could dream up was Morin & AMac(no money retained) for 30 and 31. Then maybe trade the two picks to move up to 19 or something.

No way in hell I would trade Morin in that deal. What is the reasoning for trading Morin? I've seen his name mentioned numerous times.

Probably the same as every trade so far mention to speed up the Hextall plan which would go against the plan he wants to follow.

Patience is needed for it.

No one was sure about Jagr's availability. The Velvet Revolution took place in Czechoslovakia less than a year earlier, but no one was sure yet what the political landscape would look like or how it would affect player availability.

The player Russ Farwell really coveted, though, was Petr Nedved (whom he knew from their time together with the Seattle Thunderbirds). He pushed and pushed to trade up to Vancouver's spot but Pat Quinn wasn't budging.

Another intriguing "what if": Clarke tried hard in 1988 to move up into the top 10 in order to get Rod Brind'Amour or Teemu Selanne. He wasn't able to, so the Flyers stood pat and ended up with Claude Boivin.

Not sure how trading a player drafted 3 years ago, for draft picks to pick players in 2016 would be speeding it up. I think it's the shiny new toy syndrome.

I think it’s extremely a forward-deep draft, especially the top group. It’s exciting because when the top end is as good as it is, it does push everybody down a little bit. So we’re hoping that we see some of that.

I hope so too. It would be a really nice surprise for someone unexpected and high in the Flyers ranking to slip to 18. Looking forward to seeing what happens next weekend.

Don't trade Morin. Makes no sense, especially for picks, or to unload AMac's contract. As patient as the Flyers were with Manning, they better be just as patient with Morin, Hagg and the rest. Right now their trade value is minimal, and moving Morin for picks is going the wrong direction, imo. See what the kid can do in the NHL.
