I'm sure he is getting plenty of daily cardio at home, anyways.

Well played. I'd say he is doing well for himself.

If you can get Soupy back for that sign me up. Definitely adds some extra to the bottom of the defense, lefty shot and knows the system.

And as Darth Kane has mentioned what about Versteeg...another cheap return to the nest?

So some possible landing spots for CC gone. Would hate to move him but its the Cap. Agree completely on Panarin John. You already lost Saad who you still haven't replaced. And what about Ladd? Is he willing to take a bit less to stay here in Chicago?

Stan has his work cut out for himself the next week or so. Let's hope he's ready to pull the trigger like he did on TT/Bicks.

- DK002

Versteeg? Meh, OK. Plays LW, you can spot him here and there, but the reasons he was benched in 2010 and 2015 haven't changed.

Interesting thought, JJ. How so?.... But there is no denying leverage for moving Crow, or any goalie, decreases with each goalie signing. TOR got their man and CAL too?
- Mr Ricochet

How committed is TB to Vasilevsky at this point? Not a loaded question. An honest one. Bishop's cap hit is about equal to CC's. That said, they might be freeing up $ for Stamkos.

Again, what exactly did Kane do last summer? Nothing illegal, just ask the DA. Based on the facts and evidence tampering by the accuser, it is more likely that the accuser was trying to scam/defame
Kane, rather than any kind of sexual assault. "So-Called case." Enough said.

- EnzoD

I don't know what Kane did last summer - and neither do you.

DA never said he or his friends did nothing illegal, as I recall - only that the DA wouldn't / couldn't prosecute.

No evidence has come forth indicating "the accuser was trying to scam/defame Kane" - even stemming from the evidence tampering.

All we can do at this point is hope that Kane has learned some kind of lesson about how to stay out of compromising situations, and (most important) how to treat women.

I think Calgary trading for Bishop (if it happens) is risk for the Flames. Bishop seems to be injury prone now.

I'd be down with the Hawks moving Crawford if it helps bring back some Defense or resign Shaw.

I don't want to see Ladd or Campbell back. I'm ready to move forward and not bring old Hawks. Both or either guy will cost too much.

Stamkos, Killorn, Kucharov, Paquette, Namestnikov...JT Brown and Nesterov on lesser levels. And lets not forget about Hedman next year as well as Bishop who would be a RFA

LOTS of $$ problems in TB

I don't want to rehash last summer's endless debate. The DNA was not Kane's, the accuser tampered with evidence, and a high level prosecutor called it a "so-called case". What more do you need to assert that Patrick Kane did not commit a crime? Unless you consider drinking the weekend you bring the Stanley Cup to your hometown a crime?

I'd keep my eye on Vancouver. I think they're quietly making moves and building up a pretty darn good team there. Still reading that Lucic is on their radar.

*BREAKING*: Per source CGY has offered 2 2nd rounders + Backlund + prospects for Ben Bishop. Ball in TB's court. - fixed the typo.

- airmidget1

Make that move yesterday especially if Stamkos is gone, TB. Backlund, 27 yrs old, 3.5 cap hit through 17/18 is a fringe 2C and high end 3C....... An overpay IMO.

Not knowing of course what implications that has for exposing players to the expansion draft and if TB thinks Namestikov is their 2C or will they go with a slightly declining Filpulla as their 2C.

If true the Flames are damn serious about getting a #1.

Would rather see a power move on the ice again...instead of falling down every shift because he isn't happy with his LW

Hey JJ,

What do you think about the Hawks looking at Russell? Veteran Defensemen and shot-blocking machine.

More salary is going to be moved and maybe they can get him cheaper. I have to believe Crow is gone and maybe another big name..

Please no. Russell is so overrated. There is a reason he has to block all those shots. He is always pinned in his own zone.

Lots of stuff circulating about Ben Bishop to Calgary. FWIW, Bishop's agent says he hasn't been approached about waiving no-move clause.

Some team (probably DAL after letting Gologoski go) will give him 5+ for 5-6yrs which will be an overpay.

I think the Hawks will go after the ginger Soupy for a 1-2mil dollar deal which will be a very good pick up for the #4 role for that value

Putting aside of who is better or who the future goalie is in TB if both were kept throughout the year one would have to be exposed to the expansion draft. ..It is probable one will be moved for that reason and if I'm TB I keep the younger of the two.

I still don't keep Stamkos at 10+ per year. They are looking at the same Hawk problems in a yr or two. Keep Stamkos and you still need to sign Hedman, Kucherov, Palat, Drouin (and some thought this kid wasn't worth taking a chance on).

Tough, tough call and I bet TB management has watched what the Hawks have gone through very, very closely and as Eddie likes to say, have gone to school on that.

I'm not crazy about Campbell and I would be surprised if he would be content with 1-2 mil. He's a guy who seems to always get big money for, in my opinion, average talent.

While it's very possible Crawford gets traded...my gut feeling is he won't. If the cap is only 72.8 I think Shaw is gone. Everything points to Campbell coming back here on a team friendly deal. I also have a weird feeling about a Brad Richards return for a team friendly deal...I don't know why. My guess is Schmaltz and Motte make the big club. Only way Shaw stays is if cap is 74.0 and he accepts 3.0 or less.

Panairin/Toews/Panik
Schmultz/Richards/Kane
Motte/Anisomov/Hossa
Desjardine/Kruger/Hartman

Keith/Seabs
Campbell/Hammer
Kempny/TVR

Crawford/Darling
21-Extra Forward
22-Extra Defenseman

I really think Stan should pounce on this reported offer by Calgary and give them a discounted deal for Crawford. At this point, who really cares what the Hawks get back via trade? They just need that $6mil off the books for Panarin.
