One simple way to avoid getting in a passing match is to not insert yourself into one that's already going on.

Liver wurst sucks.

I've been pro trade Bogosian since the beginning of last season so.... I don't think he's Mike Weber bad or anything but the parts of his game he's weak on are the parts that define what a defenseman is

Tonawanda/Amherst.

Bocce is my go to, but maybe I need a change.

I wonder who will trade for Stamkos rights... My guess is (frank)ing Toronto but I hope I'm wrong. I can see Toronto over paying and giving up a 2nd round pick for his rights....

Leonardis is where I went today. Don't really care for Francos. Never had pizza from Johns, but their Chicken Finger sub is the best.

Yeah not sure, but I know when it is traded the cap hit goes to the team it is traded to. I guess they just assume it will be terminated because while the cap hit stays, the money doesn't have to go to the player then. It makes it only a cap hit and nothing more. At least that is my take.
- RhinoFan

This is correct. Players failure to report is a breach of the contract, permitting team to terminate the contract and excusing the team's obligation of payment to the player.

But the cap hit can't be excused.

I would do it in a heartbeat

pearson has size, nice shot, decent wheels and plays a 2 way game

perfect guy to move up a line if needed and is getting better each year

of course I would cut ties with foligno if we got him

- homiedclown

Big fan of Tanner Pearson. I'd rather have Toffoli, but I'd definitely take Pearson.

As far as 2nd or 3rd flight guys I'd go:

Schwartz
Hoffman/Stone
Toffoli
Pearson

Say what you will about his play, he has incredible fancy stats. It's worth giving him a bigger role. The way I look at it is like this, by eye test/current role, he's a 3rd pair guy. The fancy stats say he's top 2 (which I don't think he is), but meet in the middle and he could be a decent top 4 defenseman.
- chilliard77

The advanced stats do say he's better than his current role, however, he's not playing top minutes, neither is he playing in crunch time that often. The "level of competition" argument is also quite misleading, because in the end it pretty much evens out. There might be some guys who play against better competition 53% of the time, but generally it falls right around 50-50 +/- a little bit. So until he does both of those things and his advanced stats stay about where they are now, it's a bit of a red herring to say he's that good.

This is why I don't solely rely on stats for grading players, there needs to be balance between the stats and the other factors like eye test, ice time, etc.

I think I'm one of the few who actually didn't mind Strombolomboepididymitis. Probably because his name lends itself to infinite riffing. Also, he's not Mike Milbury.

I'm assuming we're talking about Datsyuk?

He's retiring. It's not failure to report.

When someone says either johns or Franco's are great pizza let alone both, that person does not know pizza.

TSN rumors...

http://www.tsn.ca/news-an...ove-up-from-no-6-1.510763

So does anyone know why you would trade for Datsyuk and then terminate the contract as opposed to just trading for it? Doesn't the team trading for it take the cap hit anyway? What does terminating it do for the team?

- Frizzlefry

You cant trade a cap hit of a terminated contract. So Detroit needs to trade the contact before it is terminated.

This weekend I've seen a combo of Taylor Hall and Jordan Eberle for Cam Fowler and Bogosian.

He signed a contract that says he will play the 2016-17 season. I'm not saying the reasons for his decision are wrongly made, and I don't care what label you put on it, but when he doesn't come to camp, it will be a failure to report and it will excuse the team that owns the contract from paying him. Therefore they will "terminate" the contract.

That was the question.

Franco's pizza, especially their slices are prime. Everyone I know loves them. Johns is inconsistent but does have good pizza once in a while and their pepperoni is on point. I know more about pizza than most trust me. My top three are Leonardis, Imperial Pizza and Francos. Pizza Inn, in Clarence is good sometimes La Nova is overrated but they do have good chicken finger pizza. Pescis is good too.

I get what you're saying, but I was reading yesterday he's filling retirement papers with the league. It's different than just not showing up. Players fairly often retire with term left on their contracts. It's just not usually $7.5M.
