Kessel on the 3rd line was a total luxury for Pittsburgh.

That's where they found the most chemistry. Chemistry was huge for Pittsburgh. Ennis hasn't found that chemistry since those 10 games with Foligno and Stafford a few years back.

He is too much Max again for my liking. I don't think there is anyone that he would look good with. That's why I want him gone.

IMO he was our leading scorer and one of the best players we had through the tank. I know that sounds underwhelming, but him, Girgs and Moulson was actually fun to watch for me during that time. As far as chemistry goes I just think that line had it for whatever it's worth.

Kane was in the tops in the NHL for penalties drawn per 60 minutes too I believe. Stanford didn't know that other teams ever sat in that box. Just him.

Vatanen's contract should make Risto's easy. I'd do 5 a year for 7 just on good faith to make him happy.

All the guys are playing in some kind of league over the summer.

A friend of mine plays in a league with that has 8 teams and 6-8 pro level players on each with college and high school kids on each team. 28, Cole Schnieder, Cornel, Peca, and others that for some reason escape me are in this league.

Yeah, I thought it was a more organized/competitive thing the way it was brought up. Rather than just an excuse to get together with the boys and shoot around that it basically is. Obviously they're professional athletes and they don't know how not to compete, but they're not going to give it their all either.

No.. Point was that if a player as good as Kessel can be on a 3rd line Ennis can certainly be on the 3rd line too. Especially if you get an elite top six

But Kessel was brought in specifically to play with Crosby. That obviously didn't work out, but he wasn't penciled in for the 3rd line role either.
