For the record...

I was NOT comparing Ennis to Hall or Eberle as equals or even close to it. Hall and Eberle are hands down the better players.

My only point was... if we are going to sell off a top 4 dman and a #8 pick plus more.. I'd like their numbers, games played (Hall), etc to blow me out of the water as our legit LW candidate.

They both kind of strike me as Evander Kane types where they will be the first scapegoat anyone here will have if they don't pot 30 goals like Kane didn't in his first season.

- JVince11

You were comparing them, you literally were posting their stats in your post.

Tanner legitimately thinks Franson is a #2 on a good team, and that McCabe is awful.

And in those 76 go he avg 59 points per season.
- dadeadhead

Over the last 5 years, he averages 65 per 82 games

Are u including the totals for the lockout year instead of averaging it out over s full season ?
Not important really. He's just a quality scorer.

I never post here. Just love reading your guys comments. Hilarious and honestly really inebriating stuff.

BUT! Let's say our roster remains the same next year (small chance. I get that. But we gotta be pessimistic some times)

And Vancouver misses playoffs next year (BIG chance. Gotta be optimistic sometimes)

What do we give up for the sedin twins. They are willing to waive final year of NMC for one last shot at the cup. And who knows, maybe we could resign them. We have to take both, obviously.

Ok. Ready to get ripped apart. Enjoy your evening

Nearest bridge? We should be campaigning him to run the Leafs organization.

There's a few bandied about. But you're not wrong per se.

Either way, I don't think this means you necessarily settle on whatever u can get.

The oilers aren't in a total mess on the backend going forward and just need anyone semi reasonable.

They need a top pairing guy to play with klefbom. And a puck mover to play with sekera. Having nurse in the pipeline and Davidson who came out of nowhere, they give them a little wiggle room. They could potentially be really solid going forward and unless they get their man, notbsuper prudent to just "settle"

That said, the pressure to make a serious step forward now might be too much..

- Ihateallofu

I'm of the same opinion than Buffalo. Their goal prevention was better last season than goal scoring, so top concern for me is offense. It's obvious they need a #1 pairing guy, but like I mentioned to you - they don't exactly get moved much at all.

As for pressure, Edmonton "deserves" it, and I'd like to see them eventually succeed. The rise of the cellar dwellers!! (to include Buffalo, of course)

(frank)ing painful

I'm not the tanner hater many posters are. And he's not a stupid guy. Quite the opposite. But his utter refusal to see anything but advanced numbers make it tough to put a ton of stock in his opinions

Cody franson is not a top pairing guy in any way shape or form

Or his thoughts on gardiner, or kadri...

I enjoy talking to him about music, but his obsessions with Kadri, Gardiner and Franson is just mind-boggling.

They totally deserve it

I think some of the blame or reasons behind the struggles that many believe aren't neccesarily correct. But either way, enough is enough.
And because of that, I can't say with any real certainty that they won't "settle" depending on how trade talks are going

And I never meant to slag bogo too much, I'm just not a huge fan and I really don't think he's the answer [/img]

Tanner is the worst, Franson isn't even a top 4, he could very well be the slowest D man in the league.

I would love for Tanner to be a GM, I guarantee his team would finish bottom of the league.

He's all about one certain type of possession stat. his team would be the most inefficiently boring 10th place disaster.

I've thought about this too

Considering some of the great players he slags, and some of the mediocre ones he loves, it would go something like this;

Ok tanner you take gardiner, franson and kadri and I get weber, seabrook and Kesler

Total number of games played divided by number of games in a season multiply that by his ppg.

It works out to 76 gp and 59 point for him
