The great Mark Pysyk is available according to Garth. Perhaps a JVR plus a premium pick could be enough murrency to land this talented minute munching, puck distributor?

BROWN
.......

Under no circumstance at this point should be moved!!!

Kids got a solid game to him as well as a good head on his shoulders and an unbelievable work ethic... why would you trade that? A Dman can be had for picks and lesser prospects... like Leipsic, Lindberg, Smith....

Brown will be a great pro... wait and see!

Totally agree. Much rather move JVR, seems like a step backwards if they move Brown when he's a perfect versatile winger for the young group. I personally really like JVR too but I see Brwon being a guy that helps teams win, and could be a key part of a contending leafs team. Don't break these guys up before they even get a chance to prove themselves. Winning next year isn't worth it.

Right now good young Dman are at an absolute premium. When you hear rumours suggesting the Oilers might put Taylor Hall in play for a shot at Hampus Lindholm it gives you an idea what the price might be on a top young Dman. Sometimes the best decision is to do nothing. Right now the cost of a top rated Dman is way too pricey for where the Leafs are at.

Need to be patient. Several teams (e.g. Tampa) are going to need to shed salary and move some Dmen (Coburn, Carle). Luke Schenn is available. The roster will be completed by some solid journeymen vets who will be a good influence on the development of the young guys who need the challenge of top playing time in all important situations.

With the possibility of finally acquiring #1 and #2 Centres, you def do not trade away your best winger who makes 4M/yr.

I would be open to moving JVR to Anaheim but the return would have to be significantly better and fill more holes than just a young defenseman.

JVR, Percy, 71st pick, Bernier (50% retained - IF THEY WANT HIM)

For

Vatanen, Andersen, 24th pick

Leafs get a young top 4 defender, a starting goalie, and a 1st for a first line winger, decent prospect defenseman, and lower pick. Bernier at half price if Anaheim wants him as a backup to Gibson, if not we can throw in a different piece.

While I would hate to trade Connor Brown, as he looks like that late round pick all good teams seem to make to stay competitive, he will most likely be exposed to the expansion draft. If a team really wants him and is willing to assume the risk then I would trade him. He is exactly the type of player an expansion team would look to snipe later in the draft.

I'm not so sure. How would you see it shaking out? Assuming no Stamkos and they keep JVR.

What website did you pull that? I see the 0/7 or 0/8 and assume you select protected players. Looks better than the site I found.

There is a deal here to be made with Vats and FA - for ?? I'm not quite sure Pits pick and Brown gets it down for a young RH offensive Dman that can run the PP and a very strong big young Goalie who has proven himself on the big stage -

But that is at least starting point for what would it take to get it done - this trade just makes too much sense not to happen -

I personally would like to see JVR included in any deal - and established 1st line scoring winger -
Question how did JVR fare under RC ? did they get along or was there and issue ?

It's awesome. They have all teams listed and have their automatic protected guys locked in (nmc guys) and then you can go through team by team and fill out all the rest of their protected guys and then draft the expansion team.

I thought it was 8 skaters and 1 goalie.

If so then Kadri, JVR, Nylander, Komarov, Reilly, Gardiner are definite. Goalie would be Bibeau or Sparks, assuming the team stays status quo.

That leaves two spots, and I'm pretty sure Hyman, Brown, Soshnikov and Connor Carrick all need protection.

Half the guys you listed aren't required to be protected..... Nylander hyman, sosh...

The list I posted are guys that need to be protected. You need to pick 7 forwards or 8 total skaters.

Hyman & Soshnikov don't have to be protected. And it is 7 forwards, 3 defense and 1 goalie or 8 skaters and 1 goalie.
