Probably wants to take it to the bank.

I am curious to see how Bo JV Etem and Sven progress this year.

can't see him signing for much over 1 mil, maybe a 1 year deal? I didn't realize he scored 7 goals with the Canucks.
- hillbillydeluxe

He scored 7 with us? Not going to lie. That sounds egregious. Hard to believe. Give him a bridge contract and see what happens.

7g 5a -8 9pim in 39 games... not sure how many of those points came in the last month, as Vantel mentioned, a show me contract sounds right for all involved.

Etem is a self admitted lazy person. Takes a lot for him to stay focused and work hard thats why he has been through so many teams.

Yeah I'm not alluding to some previous behavior or anything. I literally just meant what I said in a standalone context as an opinion.

I don't think it is bad to be competitive and push for success while you are 'rebuilding' so long as you don't become overzealous and rush it with some TDL acquisition that leverages your future when you don't really have a solid chance at being a contender yet regardless. You especially don't continue doing this once your window has closed.

It will be interesting to see which direction NYR takes because I think their window is closing pretty quick here.

A TDL acquisition is very premature at this juncture.
Out of line & presumptuous tbh

Not sure what you mean by out of line...

I was just mentioning that to show where I think people should begin to draw the line at fast-tracking a rebuild (i.e., when the GM becomes overconfident and makes impatient 'win-now' moves that leverage the future when you aren't a contender).

It was not a presumption and it has no bearing (as already stated) on any of JB's behavior to this date. Maybe try being a little less defensive about simple statements.

found it quite accurate

as per Etem, if we were a cap team and he was really lighting it up, i could see the urgency in getting him inked long term. as of now, he was inconsistent until the games didn't matter and then put up some points.

I don't see any need to commit to him for longer than a year when he hasn't shown he can produce consistently.

I read a sportnet article that said that Jim benning Trevor linden and ownership are trying to make the playoffs every year until the Sedins are done. So maybe getting a few younger assests that help you now and later is what the plan is until the full rebuild can start.

when you posted the lineup with the question marks, i can't remember if we hit a consensus

Daniel Henrik UFA
Sven Sutter Hansen
Etem Bo Rodin
Vey Granlund Dorsett
Burrows

Utica- JV, Gaunce to start the season

I don't know if I like this, maybe if we sign Eriksson, it'll be lipstick on a pig. If we sign someone like McGinn, Hansen moves back up to the top line and McGinn starts on the second line?

As I believe you said, expecting more moves.

I think we will see 20 different options before the season starts .

You are right we need to see the roster first.

The only way Virtanen is playing in the AHL is if he is on the Kessel diet this summer. Not happening

If they sign McGinn he'll be on the 1st line to start, where he finishes is another story. McGinn played a lot on the 1st line in Anaheim so don't know why people thing he should play on the 3rd line here??
