Resign Palmieri no mater what it takes and then draft one of Keller/ Sergachev if available. Those are my top two guys I wanna see Ray snag at 11, although there are plenty of other prospects I wouldn't mind seeing in a Devils uniform (Jost, Brown, Nylander, etc) I know New Jersey is in dire need of help up front and adding a foward prospect now would be preferable but please don't pass on Sergachev for a lesser forward. Let's not fool ourselves, the Devils need help everywhere but in net. Sure they're further along in the rebuild on the back end but they're nowhere near done fixing the D core. A core of Larsson, Severson and Sergachev on the back end is a nice thought. One more week until draft day! I cannot wait to see the newest member of the New Jersey Devils!

yep. and there will probably be another team in 5 years, my guess. It's beyond stupid.

Las Vegas is going to have to reach the cap floor, so they definitely will be forced to take on some expensive, lengthy contracts. Zajac and cammy are still a big part of this team NOW. keyword being NOW. I have no desire to pay cammy 5 mill a year for the last two years of his contract or zajac 5.75 through 2021. They're both expendable after this season IMO. Vegas will be doing us a favor if they take one of those two.

I know we have lots of cap room, but that can go fast. Lou's fingerprints will still be on this team for years to come with these terrible contracts smh. Now that he's in Toronto he wants to do what he should've been doing in NJ the last 3 years.

So another boring Friday. Let's change the topic from whom to draft to : Should Shero utilize an offer sheet to a RFA? The cost would be high, but there are some good ones this year (Nikita Kucherov, Seth Jones, Nathan MacKinnon and Jacob Trouba)? If you go $6-7 million for one of them it would cost a first, second and third round future pick. In coming year we have spare second and third rounders, the first would hurt, but any of these guys is worth a first. Love to hear your thoughts.

The thing is when you offer sheet the other team can match it and those aren't the types of players you lose for future picks. Those teams will all lose veteran over 30 players with bigger contracts before they let a team steal away the guys you mentioned, especially Mackinnon as the avs have basically said he is untouchable and with good reason. Now as to you're question? I am down for an offer sheet especially if it works I just think thats slim. I also think a lot of the fans on here will think that sending a 1,2,3 in next years draft is silly even if the player we where getting was Malkin or something but they can't handle the thought of losing Travis Zajac. I would love to (frank) over Marty and the Blues and find a way to steal Schwartz but again he is basically in the same boat as Nate in the team has them as top priority on the summer and will likely let go of some pretty serious assets before letting players like these rfa's go. I also wouldn't mind the idea of trading for Shattenkirk or Trouba but we really don't have much to offer for either player based on their teams needs lol.

Yep, I know what you are saying. I like all the RFAs mentioned, but Jones stands out. If you offer him $6-7 million now you are overpaying the first few years but probably a deal after that. Thinking of him and Lars would make for the start of a real good, young D. Address offense in this year's draft and hopefully a trade or two. But guys like these RFAs don't come around that often. I don't know but I was never that big on Jones. I remember people saying Ekblad wasn't as good as him. I don't know what it is but I always felt he was over rated, I haven't looked at stats so I could be way off but I just like Trouba a lot more between the two. Plus the Blue jackets traded Ryan Johanson for him they aren't losing him because that would mean they lost both for a first second and third round pick.

IMO Jones will be a a great defenseman, but thats an uneducated opinion. And yes, Columbus would probably match, but at worst we just hurt their salary cap.....
