I don't even get why Bogo has a bad rap?

He is signed long term at 25 years old. Coming off basically his best season as a pro. He averaged 22 TOI per game which is the most of his career as well. He even averaged 1 point per 60 minutes played.

5.1M for Bogosian is gonna be cat nip compared to the contracts that some of these guys get this year and next. That is a bargain.

To each their own though I suppose.

Over 5 for 4 more years for a guy that is fairly slow footed, tends to struggle defensively and is fairly mediocre offensively (a decent year last)
As you said, his best season. But that's in relation to injury plagued seasons where he really struggled.

The dollars aren't too bad, but the term kinda sucks.

For what he is, I really don't see his contract as a bargain at all.

But as u said, to each his own

Ehh... I still don't know. The same guy also claims that he has already taken visits with Toronto, Buffalo, and Boston. CLaims that he actually met with the teams and didn't like Toronto's players and management. Says he intends to visit Detroit, St. Louis, and Ottawa as well.

Ottawa and STL can't afford him if their lives depended on it and he is basically saying that each of these teams are tampering with Stamkos right now.

- JVince11

Is it considered tampering if Tampa knows about it?

I'm not trying to be smart, just an honest question.

Without coming off like a troll, pretty much THIS.

I didn't say he's terrible. And he's a top 4 on the oilers today. (For how long I'm not sure though) but he's abit of a bandaid among a few other warts.
I'd pursue other options for that kind of contract

I'll say it. He was terrible for most of last season. He had a stretch of 10 games or so where he scored 5 or 6 of his goals and played really well. Other than that he was a wreck.

It can be attributed to his groin injury.....but that seems to be an issue (Injuries) a lot for him

Youve obviously seen a ton more of him than me, but I've never been impressed from what I've Seen.
Mediocre skater, poor decisions. Actually seems to get victimized a lot

But as i said, it's a small sample.

Someone on another thread said he was told Stamkos was in Buffalo a few days ago and he's a trustworthy guy over on their board. Not saying it proves anything, but the stories are similar

I would also say if the cap goes to 74.5m you won't see as many buyouts.

James is disgusting tonight that three-pointer dagger in the heart

You will hear the crickets tomorrow about him

- GERBE!!!75PTS

He plays half as good in the 1st 2 games of this series and they're already are celebrating a title win.

I was very puzzled by Philly buying out the 1 remaining year of Umberger. Usually you buyout the guys with a ton of term left.

Didn't I remember hearing right at the end of the year presser someon asked GMTM if they'd buy out Moulson and he said absolutely not?

I konw I heard that too.

I've heard he wants to be someone close to home but not home. It makes Buffalo a very, very logical choice. We know that GMTM wants him. Had a trade in line for him at the draft last year too.

He strikes me as a guy that just needs a fresh start. After 8 years in TB, I'm sure it just got kind of stale. Maybe taken for granted a bit. Wants that new rush.

I still think that we have the best to offer him too in terms of vets to play with, young kids to grow/mentor, salary cap, aggressiveness at the draft, aggressiveness in the trade and UFA market, proximity to his home, etc.

For some reason I could see it as like a 3 or 4 year deal instead of a long 7 year deal though.

I think he said something to that effect. I don't see him being bought out now.

Agreed. he did. But you don't typically buyout guys with 1 year left on their deal.

I mean.. we did it to Gerbe.

Lets be honest.... if GMTM hasn't given up on Moulson after that bad of year... he won't be giving up on Girgensons after a down year statistically. I still think Girgensons did everything defensively that doesn't show up on charts that they asked him to but just didn't get the full game.

It's not the cost either as it'd be less than 900k the next 6 years.

It's the final year only saves them a tad over a mil, as he's only owed 8 mil over the next 3 years but his cap hit is 5 per.

Which might be the only saving grace if he were to get traded to a trying to hit the floor team.

Yeah. I agree. I think he loves the size and his defensive side of his game. I could see him going in a trade, only if he has to part with him to get a bigger fish.
