More chatter that Gorton is listening hard on Stepan trade talks

If the Rangers trade Stepan they better have another 1st or 2nd line center coming back in some way

U take Tkachuk at 3? Let's say we offer Stamkos 6 years 10.5 per. Nash would have to go. So minus Nash and Step, add Stamkos. I think I would prefer Dumba and Tuch over just Tkachuk.

I think Columbus would covet Stepan as much as any team in the league.

I would prefer getting a right handed shot into the top 6 with Puljujarvi. I just feel if the 2 best deals on the table are 3rd overall or Dumba and Tuch, were a better team taking Dumba and Tuch. Our right side D is a little questionable. McIlrath is a 2nd pair at best, Girardi is a giant ? going into the season and Klein looked overwhelmed when he was the go to #1 rhd. Dumba gives McD a legit partner on the right for years to come and allows Klein to stay as our #2 where he looked much more comfortable. I don't think any of this happens unless Gorton thinks we have a legitimate shot at Stamkos however.

Only other thing I could see is Nash and Stepan for Dumba Coyle Tuch 1st.

Hayes would need to take more than the next step to replace Stepan . Stepan plays every part of the game , and plays it well . With Nash and Stepan gone the Rangers have zero penalty killing left at all , scary thought after watching the penalty kill last year

Our 4th line was a mish mosh all season and was terrible. Alot of teams 4th line guys are the PKers. We need to revamp that 4th line including Glass to the minors.
