I think they will be ok. Ownership group is loaded. Giving away tickets as in comps are part of the plan. Advertising Weekend trips with free Leaf, Montreal, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver games - will bring in customers to spend a bit in Vegas. If will be cheaper to see the Leafs in Vegas than in TO unless you blow it gambling. Way better place for a franchise than Arizona, Carolina. - Fakepartofme
Not at all.
The tickets to the game would be cheaper...but overall cost wouldnt be.
Hotels and Casinos will buy every ticket available - and offer comps to Clients, so they will get full price for the tickets. They will be in good shape. Not cheaper, free to clients, hotels-casinos pay the bill.

We cant keep all our prospects and picks, you have to trade some quality to get quality. - Fakepartofme
In a deal like that sure but i mean i seen someone trying to trade him and a second for Hartnell.. i still think he has some strong upside. |

I'm here. I'm watching. And I'm (frank)ing appalled.
Sterling/Alli have done nothing, Kane has been invisible. Only Lallana and Walker seem to want to try and attack. Better be subs made at half time or I might have to travel to France and get England kicked out myself!!! - lumlums
England is a football has-been..
Much like how Alberta used to be all high and mighty, but has fallen back to the trailer park life..

Would it not make sense to keep our picks and throw in the middle of the road prospects, especially if there is another possibility of an expansion team coming in the next 2-3 years? Are we also not close to the contract limit? - PhilMcCracken
It was a suggestion, and one that would make sense for Arizona. They have a crap team and two picks in the first round. It is an over payment - but to get the #20 pick Leafs will have to give up something and not a bad ex first rounder like Holland or Percy. |

It'll be the citizens (true fans) of Vegas that get shafted..
They'll have to rent a hotel room just to get tickets. |

Quebec is a possibility - the problem is $500 Million US - or $650 Canadian - will kill the deal in Quebec. It is quite likely they could buy a team for half of that - Carolina would be a good place to start. They are valued at $225 million by Forbes and are supposedly $200 Million in debt to the NHL - and on a very short leash. - winsix
Videotron, who's trying to get the team in Quebec can easily spend $650 million. Last year when they were asked about the $500 million US, their comment was "It's starting to be a bit of a steep price"... money isn't a problem for Videotron. Videotron also paid 20% of the TV contract bill of Bell/Rogers, so Bettman knows Videotron can hold their own with a team.
The problem is most likely Bell/Rogers & Molson that are trying to block them...
One rumour I heard is the Carolina owner is trying to sell the team. If the team can be sold elsewhere, it will go in the West and therefore will make room in the East for Quebec. Most likely to happen in 2018 so they won't say anything right now... |

they are not.
they just use sports as an excuse.
hooliganism is an important problem in europe, first thing that should be done is de-link this from the sports and directly treat this as any organised crime problem. |

I have a friend in the gaming industry - he says don't be so sure casinos will buy tickets.
First, there's a loose tie between the arena and a casino chain, so other casinos will be reluctant to send customers there.
Second, apparently they have it down to a formula - comped shoes shouldn't be more than a certain amount of time (iirc, 70 minutes?!?!).
The whole idea is you want people gambling. 70 minutes is a nice break, and then they go back to the tables/machines.
If you send someone to a hockey game, that's their evening. They don't return to gamble. |
