Is there any clarity on potential 2nd expansion team?
If a 2nd team indeed would be added, Leafs would be pushing for expansion to take place for both teams after coming season instead of in 2-3 years from now...

Not sure what Seattle status is right now, but always seemed to be the best option with Las Vegas?

Quebec is a possibility - the problem is $500 Million US - or $650 Canadian - will kill the deal in Quebec. It is quite likely they could buy a team for half of that - Carolina would be a good place to start. They are valued at $225 million by Forbes and are supposedly $200 Million in debt to the NHL - and on a very short leash.

By the way I´ve already indicated who Leafs will pick in first three rounds at draft, so you guys have to worry less..

Generalfananger changed their expansions tool so that you don't have to just protect 7f3d1g to be able to protect any 8skaters and a goalie like the leak says. That should help team like minny who could protect their top 4d but then may lose a forward.


The issue is going to be with clb. They may be (frank)ed 4ways to Sunday. They have so many crappy guys on nmc (Foligno, Dubinsky, hartnall) eating up a protected space that they are for sure going to lose a significant piece. If they want to protect Murray and savard and Jones they don't have room for saad. If they want to protect saad they lose of of savard, Jones Murray.


Thank god the leafs aren't in a position where they are hampered by nmc.

You have a point - Detroit could be moved to the west - not ideal though. Quebec is much more likely than Seattle in any event.

The problem with Quebec is ecconomics, with the cdn dollar so low it's hurting their chances. And also location. Already unbalance east/west adding to the east just doesn't make sense in terms of division ect.

You may be able to pick up a tv or radio station depending where the cottage is.

Perhaps the main cottage may have a satellite dish.
