James Reimer is on the verge of being really happy, b/c this makes him the best goaltender on the free agent market.
this maybe true...but aren't some teams looking for a starter? |

I have a friend in the gaming industry - he says don't be so sure casinos will buy tickets.
First, there's a loose tie between the arena and a casino chain, so other casinos will be reluctant to send customers there.
Second, apparently they have it down to a formula - comped shoes shouldn't be more than a certain amount of time (iirc, 70 minutes?!?!).
The whole idea is you want people gambling. 70 minutes is a nice break, and then they go back to the tables/machines.
If you send someone to a hockey game, that's their evening. They don't return to gamble. - Atomic Wedgie
I would think that Vegas will have more afternoon games than any other franchise. Instead of going to the Hoover Dam, clients will be able to go to the game.
I've been comped green fees at golf courses - can't play a round in 70 minutes. They need to sell a given amount of season tickets to qualify for a franchise that could be 10 - 12000 and the large majority of those seats will be purchased by the hotels and casinos. Incidentally, Vegas sports book will be happy as well because hockey betting will surely increase with this move.

Just wait. You can be at the Blackjack table at 4am, see Evander Kane and O'Reilly across the room. Then you can sprint across the room and bet on Las Vegas over Buffalo that day |

I agree completely.
Actually this would help for European fans; time difference is 9-10 hours (Central Europe with Sweden, Switzerland, Finland, Czech republic, Germany etc.).
Quite a few European tourists going to Las Vegas that might want to combine their 5-7 day trip to Vegas with an NHL game (affordable tickets through packages?).
a 1PM game every week would help to create an overseas fanbase in Europe for sure. |

There will be many better goalies than Ward available very soon. They might need salary to get to the floor and can expose one of Lack or Ward for expansion. In any event they probably like him more than anyone else does.

Only found a small vid of Englands first goal. Was that a Wales player that knocked it towards that net? (Hence the no offside?)
Edit: Nevermind. "There were questions over whether Vardy was offside, but replays showed Welsh defender Ashley Williams played him onside when he inadvertently headed the ball into the Leicester City forward's path." |
