I don't think Avs are wanting to trade Duchene away, nor Barrie. People are confusing shopping to listening and offering to discussing. Just bc teams are discussing Duchene doesnt mean avs are shopping him or offering him up in trades.

Its what sort of impact players can they get to change the look of the team. Its not a rebuild futures attempt crap that is being posted by every other team.

I could see the blue jackets and Avalanche making a deal for duschene. Columbus 1st round pick and a guy like savard or Murray for duschene. After losing johannson, and the development of Jenner....duschne would provide instant threat up front....Avalanche free up cap space and get a chance to draft a great young player to compliment McKinnon and langeskog. Murray or savard are pretty good young den to grown round Johnson....the cap space may allow them to resign Barrie long term or go after a guy like demers or yandle.

Barrie for the 4th overall draft pick? Edmonton could sweeten the offer by adding in Oesterle or LaLeggia, especially since Ek is saying that Edmonton is on the verge of getting Sanheim from Philly in exchange for Yak......

But seriously, 4th overall draft pick for Barrie and possibly sweetening the deal with Edmonton sending Colorado either Oesterle or Laleggia (only ONE you greedy bastards).

If Barrie is actually going to be traded, it makes sense for Colorado, ESPECIALLY if one of the big three drop off. That would definitely help Colorado with finding a damn good Top 6 RW if it were Pulj (Hell you can't go wrong with any player from that stand point honestly, even Tkachuk over Pulj isn't as bad as others seem to put it), however, if that were to happen, I would actually see Edmonton drafting Pulj and trading Eberle for a good defender, but we'll see what happens.

I know Duchene often came up earlier in the year probably for motivational purposes.
But just to hear that "everyone is possibly available except Mackinnon", again?
Wouldn't this make someone like him feel he's better off where he's appreciated?
They seem to motivate with "moving van" fear, I don't know.
I really don't think that they are that far away from adding maybe 2 pieces & getting back to the top again.

Honestly I dont know where this stuff is coming from, Dreger is the one spitting this nonsense (usually using Chambers and Frei as his sources in Denver who dont cover the Avs very well to begin with). Every local guy who do outstanding coverage of the Avs are not hearing these same reports.

I tend to listen to the BSN guys when it comes to inside information with the team since they really have bang on coverage. The guys at the Denver post mentioned above talk nonsense all the time.

Im sure there is a little smoke to these rumours as sure the Avs are looking at all possible scenerios to impove their team. Listening to what other teams are suggestion vs actively shopping their players are 2 different stories. Since Easter Media likes to crap on the Avs bc of Roy, they like to twist the story the other way

I really think they need to add to the core that they have, (I don't know if ownership will spend that high?), with an internal budget.
One more top 6 scoring forward, and a true top 2 D man can take this team back to where they were, (I know, those are not easy additions, my Flyers have the same needs). I'm kind of second guessing the ROR trade now, thinking if they could have moved him for a solid defenseman who could help them now that would have made a huge difference. I know the options were limited, but they seem closer to me than what others think. Just seeing how one player can impact a team to another level, (like Ghost did for us), could do the same.

this is what kills me, everyone just keeps on saying the avs are a budget team. They are not a budget team, just bc they arent foolish with their cap space doesnt mean they are a budget team.

I think its easier said now that ROR should have been traded for a solid Dman. No one was knocking down the door with established Dman offers for him. ROR was still talked about as this over rated over paid 2nd line C that is going to be a pain to deal with for a new contract. They got a solid package for him, and I would want them to do that 9 times out of 10.

Bigras and Zads are solid Dman, and at 10 they are going to have a chance to draft another one this draft. Their D core isnt going ot be as terrible as people assume it is. Just needs the roster spots to open and the younger guys to mature a bit more
