I think with Burrows it could go either way. He might be packaged (salary retained), he could be a solo trade (salary retained) and if all else fails he is bought out on the final day.

As much as think Linden Vey was admirable for being able to play through the last couple of seasons because of his parents situation I'm going to say that I'd like for Benning to offer Brandon Pirri a term sheet of around $1.2m and see if Anaheim matches. Under $1.239m there is no compensatory pick

Pirri had 22 goals 2 seasons ago and 14 last season split between Florida and Anaheim. He's only 25 and might be worth the risk. What do ya think?

I really hope this team keeps going in the same direction. To me, not buying out Burrows and Higgins contradicts their direction. Need to be more consistent.

I don't think he does anything with both until he's figured out the rest of the lineup or has made a decision to go after one of the big free agents which means he'll have to buy out at least one of them.

Burrows isn't the worst guy to have around. I thought Higgins was pouty last season.

I know some don't like us eating salary, but if we ate a little of Burrows', a cap floor team like the Yotes might have interest in him in a 3rd or 4th line role. Ibet he'd waive his ntc or whatever he has.

I guess we'll find out if any teams think there's any value in either of them this off season. I think a healthy Burrows can still be useful for us since he was injured at the beginning of last year.

Aside from not trading first round draft picks ( recently selected players not included) I haven't seen much consistency in the plan. Trying to get younger is obvious, but holding on to vets and allowing them to walk for nothing. That seems to be what we're dealing with.

Unless we're mathematically eliminated at the TDL, I expect we'll see much of the same. If we are eliminated at that point, I can see a regime change happening as well.
