Fleeced might be a strong word considering the outrage at the time that we didn't get a 2nd back. Course, had we gotten one, we all know Benning would've traded it ASAP, can't sit on those 2nd rounders.

*Cam Ward has signed a two year extension with the Hurricanes... 3.3M per year.

Carolina looks like they are taking the Dallas approach with goalies...

Hopefully it works out better for Carolina than Dallas. What a disaster! The Stars will likely be forced to buyout Lehtonen

You guys know you can buy a Bieksa canucks jersey for $27 on the nhl website? Seems for that price you could just get a new name and number put on for less than the price of a current players jersey

I am not sure who the #1 is going to be in Dallas, but I think they have to decide. Sharing the #1 duties can work for a short time but sometimes it just doesn't work. The Stars do have some nice forwards though.

When the Bluejackets traded Carter for Johnson, Johnson took Carter's old number and the organization had a promotion where they would put Johnson's name over Carter's at no charge. Thought that was classy.

You've now graduated from grand master circle jerker to benning fluffer. I've never seen someone virtually suck benning's cock as much as you do. Congrats.

Fleeced?

I didn't know that, it often seems like the gear is over priced, nice to see when an organization does something like that.

Benning fleeced Carolina on that trade. Taco Boy for Brisbouis, Id make that trade any day. I'm pretty high on Brisbouis and I think now that he has been traded he will start showing his offense more

There is some merit in that madness. Traditionally, NHL teams have had a definite #1. In Vancouver's situation, I think it might be warranted to have two goaltenders sharing the duty. We all know this team's travel schedule is ridiculous. You constantly hear talk of reducing the number of games our #1 gets because they are exhausted by the end of season.

Old traditions are hard to break in the NHL.

That's for an infant jersey. It's a bit wider at the bottom to fit over the diaper.

If we traded a players negotiating rights for a 3rd I probably wouldn't use the word fleeced. Call it sarcasm or exaggeration, or circle jerkism...which eve you prefer. I didn't care for Lack and I think Guillaume Brisebois is a solid prospect

I agree. I think in Vancouvers travel situation it makes sense to have the backup play more games than the avg. Although it'll make a bigger difference when we're back in the playoffs.

Avalanche NOT trading D Tyson Barrie, GM Joe Sakic tells me. LT deal preferred for RFA, or arbitration. "Either way, he'll be here" - Sakic

I'm not arguing the trade. I'm arguing the term 'fleeced'.

I wasn't overly joyed by the trade. A 25 year old goalie with 2 pro seasons, 82 regular season games, 4 playoff games, and a SV% of .917. All that while playing behind Luongo and Miller. There seemed to be potential there.

Knowing the % that 3rd and 7th round picks making an NHL impact, to me it seemed like a gamble at the time. IMO, it still is.

TSN 1040: Ray Ferraro wonders that if the Canucks are going to buy out Alex Burrows or Chris Higgins for just dead salary cap space and not creating any on ice benefit, what is the point of buying them out?

I tend to agree. We don't need the space desperately so trade or keep the contracts so we don't have to deal with them for more than a year.

Touche.

But you would have done the same if I came in here with a similarly outrageous statement like "Eddie Lack was the best damn goalie prospect the canucks had and trader Jim sent him packing. (frank), dim Jim is killing this franchise" you would be all over me.

I agree, I don't think either will be bought out..the cap benefits aren't great enough. Higgins can ride the bus and Burrows will play on the 4th line
