This is the first year in the last three or four that I watched nary a minute of college or major junior hockey. I have no idea who anyone is outside of Matthews, the two top Finns, and everyone who is a son of a former NHL'er.

Kunin, Rubtsov, Asplund, Dahlen, Bean, or Max Jones. (all subject to change)

I hope. I am not eager to spend our top pick on a player who is knocked for his offensive skills. I want more than a player with size, hustle, and skating. I find his skating overrated actually.

Skating to me is his best strength, think the offensive is there but will he ever discover it..........who knows.

I don't expect McLeod to be there, or he'd be on my list.

My top 5:
1. Luke Kunin C/W Wisconsin. Good scoring potential, good smarts, plays with an edge, decent 2-way guy
2. Kieffer Bellows LW London. Scorer. Loves to shoot. Decent size, willing to be physical, good skater
3. German Rubtsov C Russia Hard working, smart two way payer. Always around the puck, more playmaker than shooter. May not have as high an offensive ceiling as Bellows or Kunin. Would be great in Hakstol's system
4. Dante Fabbro D Penticton Good all around righty shooting D with loads of hockey smarts, makes a good outlet passes and has a really solid, polished all around game. Didn't face top competition compared to guys like Bean or Chychrun
5. Vitalii Abramov C Gatineau. Can absolutely fly. Good playmaker, again considered a smart player with lots of hockey sense. Is a smaller guy, need work in own end, concerns that he's guy who lit up the Q and can't carry it to next level.

We have too many assets. People on here are getting happily content with the progress. Time to make a big splash and spend a bunch of those assets.
